I'm looking for some war fics. Enembee's Skitterleap has been one of my top reads for awhile now, and after reading Sins of a Colonial Empire in the curbstompage thread I've realized I haven't read any good war fanfics in a long time. Any good war centric HP, Halo, or Call of Duty fics out there?

The only two exceptional fics in that fandom.

As for Harry Potter, probably Jbern's To Fight the Coming Darkness.

 

Shezza's The Resistance of Azkaban is a good war fic (but it is more of a 'guerrilla war' fic)

Bomin's Sunrise Over Britain has great battle scenes too.

 

One that comes to mind is Marquis Black's The Dark Wars quartet. Harry and his parents escape after Voldemort attacks and join a shadow empire of the crown. Harry starts out a major or short colonel when the story picks up and he rises through the executive ranks to Field Marshall in a World War III fought with technomagic. An adequate read if you're into that stuff, but I found the plot holes a bit too much for my tastes.

Blot's story Old Soldiers Never Die is a shorter, less ambitious war tale of sorts. It's decent, though one of his "not funny" stories.
