Do you suppose that Murphy (as in Murphy's Law) was a wizard and a seer? Because in EVERY fic I read, Harry seems to be the prime target of said law. It's like the law was invented JUST for Harry Potter.

You mean 'What can go wrong will go wrong'?
I always thought Harry was the exception that proved the rule ;)

That would be hysterical because if it were true, who would they list it under in the DoM? Or, what did Murphy look like when it happened that nobody noticed until now? Did his eyes roll back up into his head and his voice go squeaky as he said, "If you perceive that there are four possible ways in which something can go wrong, and circumvent these, then a fifth way, unprepared for, will promptly develop." Then his buddies just slapped him on the back, "Too true, my Friend. Too true." :D

I read a hilarious list of Murphey's Laws outside an Irish-themed pub on Pier 39 in San Francisco. Had to do more with humans than those though. If only I could remember them.

I remember something like that too, in german. It started with
"If your jam sandwich falls down, it will always land jam down" (my own translation)
But I cannot remember the rest.

I could have sworn there was one that had to do with a unicorn...

Edit: Here it is. Murphy's law: 'Never play leap frog with a Unicorn.' That would support the fact that he might be a wizard I guess.

This site has all the laws I know of:

    http://www.murphys-laws.com/murphy/murphy-laws.html

a lot of them are much more generally expressed than I knew. The ones that most stuck to me:

The other line always moves faster.
