What would the child of a werewolf and a metamorphmagus (for example, Remus and Tonks) be like? A werewolf that can completely control all aspects of the transformation? A hairy metamorph? Some combination of the two? I think a story about the kid would be pretty interesting.

Plot bunny bit me and I had to ask.

    Hahahaha.

I think it'd be part Werewolf, kind of Bill-circa-HPB-like. Change on the moons, can control looks otherwise.

That little joke was completely unintentional. But wouldn't the kid be a Born Werewolf, able to fully control it?

Indeed, it is not even hinted at that anyone else in Tonks' family has these abilities, currently, yet we are told of living kin. Therefore it is logical to assume that metamorphmagi powers are at least a recessive trait, if not a random magical gift.

I think I read somewere that metamorph abilities are passed down thru the bloodlines, you can only have the ability if someone in your bloodline has had it before you but that does not mean that your kid will have metamorph powers.

I think it was in OotP but it might have been some fic...

Lets just not imagine it...let's pair Tonks with Harry :D

Remus is a douche...no need to give him a hot metamorphmagus. He should get Pansy Parkinson, the Goyle Family and perhaps Grawp as bed-buddies.

If by some shitty stretch of imagination you people actually want to read it :p , I'd say that the kid would just be able to control its transformations.

I'd say that he'd be a normal kid, aside from the fact that he'd have a 40-year-old deadbeat dad and a 20-year-old peppy mom. That'd screw him up pretty well.

o.0 Can you see a hairy tonks?!?! *shivers*

No seriously It would probably be able to control it's transformation. Like that one chick from XMen Evolutions. Can't remember her name.

Ewww. Thanks Vincent I'm going to have that image in my head for hours.

I just think it'll be a normal kid, but with the ability to get hormonal every month.

And this makes it different from the average female how?

EDIT: Ok that sounded really sexist... Sorry, neighbors daughter is PMS'ing and I can hear her yelling at her parents from my house. Very annoying.

That's all fanon I'm afraid, we're given so few real details in canon about the metamorph power, other than the fact that they're rare and can change their appearance at will.

We also learn in HBP that metamorphs can loose control over their power.

    Other than that...nothing.

Myself, I think that the child would just be a normal human child. The werewolf curse is transfered through a bite, so I don't see how it would get transfered to a baby. After all, it's not a genetic disorder or disease but a magical curse.

I don't think that the child would be a metamorphagus either as the gift appears to be random: Tonks is the only person we know to have the power, and yet if it were genetic then there would be many more.

Still, it's a good plot bunny if you ignore those facts, and thats what fanon is for.

I'm with Taure on this one, the books never even hint that it's passed on through blood. ...I think o_O.

The average female doesn't go totally apeshit every month, really bad PMS is actually not that common. Also I've noticed that men are just as aggressive, almost to the point of being permanently hormonal.

Although I was actually trying to allude to the normal behavior of teens in general. I was actually picturing Kevin out of Kevin and Perry.

Don't worry about the comment Gio, it was funny and I saw it as the joke it was.

I think someone mentioned this in IRC......Rainbow Werewolf......:p

But yes, the metamorhmagus abilities are very rare and them showing up in the next generation is quite rare.

That would be hilarious, Cypher. It'd be like one of those cartoons where the mouths blow up in size before they bite down. *pictures it*
