... Or as it should be called, I <3 Kato

I'm shocked this does not have a thread, or that I have not found it.

    First off.

That there is the Money Shot.

I have watched it, I can not remember a time I so thouroughly enjoyed a non porn based movie.

I have created this thread for no other reason than to promote such an awesome film.

See it or be a bitch

Was it actually good? Based off of the previews it looked like absolute shit... I figured that even if I did see it the part I would enjoy most was when they were testing the stuff on Mythbusters.

I don't know what you saw on mythbusters but my friends and I were laughing a good 60% of the time.

The plots good, the action is great, the comedy is gold.
I don't know if I would waste the money to go see it in 3d like I did, there wasn't alot of stuff to really marvel over in 3d but I severly enjoyed it enough to forget that I was staring at a 3d movie if that means anything.

Half the time I'm watching something in 3d I am too distracted by the over the top deliberate stunts targeted at 3d audiences that I can't get into a movie.

I sat through this thing without even realizing I was watching 3d as I was so engrossed through the movie.

This will be the first Blu Ray I buy. Ever.

I enjoyed it very much myself. Funny bits, plenty of good action. What you expect, but maybe just a bit better.

^That's exactly how I put it to a friend yesterday. It doesn't do a whole lot you don't expect it to do--but that's fine, because I had high expectations. The action is really well done, the villain is the guy from Inglourious Basterds (he is a boss), and the comedy was surprisingly good. What you'd expect from a modern comic book film, except just a little better. :)

    Kato: :awesome

That's what I hear about every movie Seth is in, and to me, the guy was only funny in Knocked Up, and parts of 40yr old V. (for that matter most of the 40 year old crew can go die in a fire and take Will Ferrel with them) The man's just not funny at all to me. Is the humor his normal crap of semi stoner acting and uncomfortable punchlines?

The trailers and reviews I'd read said the movie was out and out garbage, but I'll give it a shot.

That's probably why i was surprised that it was so funny--it's mostly the interaction between him and Kato that makes it hilarious, because Kato is like a beast, and super stoic. I think I laughed more from being in awe of Kato than anything else. The guy who plays the villain is also really funny in an understated way. There was a whole lot of dead pan and situational humor.

^ I think that’s the premise of this one. The hero, Seth is decent but still a little bit of a idiot. Then pair him up with a super intelligent Kato who can do practically everything, it gets surprisingly funny.

This is more clever wordplay and situational humour than slapstick penis jokes and frat house stoner crap.

I found it kinda like Adam West Batman filtered through stoner comedy - fun, but no classic. Kato was absolutely badass, Seth Rogan's character seemed pretty much the same as Knocked Up, Cameron Diaz was wasted in her role, Christoph Waltz was great, the car was fucking awesome.

Oh man, this film was brilliant. I went to see it on Friday: I'd heard it was bad, wasn't expecting anything good, and was completely blown away by how awesome it was.

My favourite character by far was the villain, especially in the opening portions of the movie. His subdued badassery and the humour he brought was just absolutely great in a movie like this.

Was not blown away, was not impressed, was not worth my money.

I'm sorry, the movie just felt derivative and poorly done, and while some of the performances were good, I just didn't find it funny at all. If anything, it felt rather forgettably shitty.

I just love that James Franco is in the movie - just for the opening scene. He's ridiculous, but it's awesome.

I will take that challenge. I will stroke my adipose stress toy in wait till your reply.

I normally hate James Franco with a passion. Thats why his part in this movie was so satisfying.

My favorite scene had to be the knockout gun.

This. A hundred times this. James Franco I don't understand why people like him either. And him at the beginning pretty much ruined the evil character. You don't introduce your big bad by having folks ridicule him and laugh at him, and think it's cool when he shots them with this retarded looking two barreled gun.

The main bad guy was horrible, and pretty much a joke all throughout. His folks not being scared of him while he think's he's scary? Not funny at all. I did laugh a few times, like when you knew dude was going to shoot himself with the knockout gun, and then when he hit Kato. His obsessing on Diaz was beyond stupid, considering any of the chicks in the movie he was with were a hundred times hotter then she was, and he's even joking about how effing old she looks in the movie.

They tried to do an action movie, then they mixed in some really poor attempts at humor, and threw in some awesome cars. Kato rocked, but his power of heightened reflexes, presumably from his martial arts training? All of a sudden lard ass has them. Way to make one of the special things about Kato meaningless. The way he treats Kato throughout the movie too just made me actively loathe the character.

And if they can get faxes, and have lcds and phones and shit in the car.... you couldn't upload the sushi to the fucking internet from there?!?!? Really?!? Rage.

There was no subdued anything. The guy thought folks feared his short scrawny ass, when he kept finding out every one thought he was a joke he shot them. There's no humor in that at all. The closet thing to funny was when he complained about the gas mask fogging up.

Maybe I'm just not in the right mindset to watch Seth Rogan (high or drunk) but this movie wasn't worth the time I spent to watch it outside of seeing Kato do some cool kicking, and the car. I spent more time wondering why the hell Kato was fake driving by steering the wheel drastically nonstop on straight sections of road then I did laughing.

Watching it high - fairly funny to very funny.
Watching it with GF while sober? - meh. And for the love of god dont let her catch you looking to closely at Cameron Diaz.

Cue and hour of 'Well blondes are all sluts and shes old now' comments.

I grant you reprieve for now QuaziJoe.

    For now.
