Can you change your avatar please.

I keep thinking you are Tehan at a glance. His avatar has a similar colour make up and his name begins with T also.

They're both black and white, but that's as close as they get. I guess I'll change it later, when I get home.

I enjoyed it, but there were bits with too much out of character, the main being a bias pureblood being civil to a squib.

Been reading this for the first time (I think). I'm up to Chapter 17 and have to stop for a while but thought I'd leave a bit of a review before I close the tab/window by accident and forget.

I'd rate it at 3.5/5 for now. It does seem to get better as it goes on, but it still has numerous issues. Something about the entire thing with the placement of Harry into the House of Black seems... like some aspects of it don't add up right or something. Sirius seems to have adapted/accepted circumstances rather too easily as well, but at least the attempt is made to explain it even if I can't quite come to terms with it. The portrait of James and Lily is given far too large a role -- did I see the damn thing performing an unbreakable vow or helping with one somehow? Not to mention that things have been dragging on for rather a while now and the boys aren't even into Hogwarts. Dumbledore seems like a manipulative stereotype though we haven't seen that much of him. So forth, so on.

But all the various issues aside the story itself tends to be fairly engaging. Especially once you get past the first bit -- It's never going to be one of my favorites but it's definitely worth my time to read through. I'm surprised i hadn't run across it before now. If nothing else the OCs (or blank-slates like Abraxus) are done better than average.

Whether or not my final rating is to round up to 4 or back down to 3 will depend on where the story finally goes. At this point we've had a lot of Harry's experiences growing up to Hogwarts age in the House of the Black, but little to no indication of where the story itself is eventually going. I'm curious to continue.

The portraits - of Regina, Lily, and James - did an unbreakable vow for each other; you know, portrait-to-portrait. A stupid idea, but I ignored it. So far, it's okay.

EDIT: I spoke to soon. It quickly degenerates into sewage. Worthy of the garabge bin, beyond a doubt.

It has it's awesome bits and awful ones. The characterization is definitely off, although I like the fast pace & plot. If you ignore the cliches, it's rather good. Gets rather engrossing after you finish the first, duller chapters.

The OCs are not bad either. It's kinda Super!Harry, but not too Super!.

Yeah its gone downhill rapidly in the last couple of chapters. I have officially given up on it. Even were it to become good again, I wouldn't want to ever have to wade through the last couple of chapters to re-read the fic.

64 chapters and the author still can't spell 'connection', wtf is this shit?

As a concept it's interesting, Harry somehow ending up in the care of the Blacks and receiving an upbringing to match. The execution, however, leaves much to be desired, despite being raised by the darkest and most elitist family in England he still ends up a proper little hero whose heart aches for the plights of the unlucky and downtrodden. Even worse, he brainwashes the entire family, Malfoy's included, to be just as sappy as him. I was looking foward to a darker twist on The Happy Red Prince but ended up with cliché-ridden, uninspired heap of Hufflepuff drivel.

Lets all hold hands with the squibs, blood traitors and mudbloods and sing fucking kumbaya.
