Well, I haven't seen anything about this come out in any threads... but here's the story


A Hacker at Insecure.org has claimed to have broken into Scholastic's website and gotten ahold of a copy of Deathly Hollows. Speficially he claims the following.

Prior to this, he'd posted a spoiler concerning the ending of the book. Detailing how the story ends. (Whether it's correct or not is anyone's guess)

I have read the spoiler myself... but I'm going to spare the forum. No, I'll not post the spoiler, but if you really want to hear it, you're free to message me and I'll tell you what it says (Rowlings people moved fast and have had the post stricken from the site)

Is the spoiler the real mcoy? Maybe yes, maybe no. I suppose it could be. The date till release is looming, and security is pretty lax in most civillian organizations so it becomes more and more likely a leak will develop or that a site will get hacked.

This is more or less a thread for discussing the possibility of it being spoiled.

 

The spoilers read like bad fan fiction. They are utterly implausible.

It is surprising that it has taken this long for a fake set of spoilers to appear. Seriously, Rowling doesn't even allow e-books of the book to be sold. The book is not being circulated throughout the publishing company. It will be under wraps until the date when it gets put into print, which is probably weeks from now. These companies take security seriously.

All kidding aside though... I didn't put it in a spoiler tag cus I didn't want to be accused of supporting the spoiler per-say and potentially getting the site in trouble.

Apparently the Rowlings Gestapo are going after sites hosting this spoiler, demanding they remove the spoiler.

To me, that sort of lends some creedance to it maybe being right if they're that hot to squash it.

 

If it ends like that Rowling should be shot.

I'd give Rowling all the money I had to finish off her series like this, just to see the looks on the face of all my friends who said that DH would be amazing. Hell, they might still think it amazing being as Harry Potter unsavvy as they are.

Harry won't kill anyone, not even Voldemort. Well, not directly at least. He'll use that room in the DoM which will send out some brain wave or something to kill Voldemort. This spoiler is BS, but a good topic for IRC.

 

Why couldn't have Harry "killed all the bad guys" in sixth year?

Even though Hermione is portrayed as smart, she isn't that powerful. If she fought Voldemort, it wouldn't be more than one paragraph long. Maybe less.

One shout of, "Avada Kedavra!" and it'll all be over.

Well - I wouldn't mind that to be the real thing. Razor industry will happily work overtime to serve all the fangirl's needs.

 

As to it's veracity...

suppose someone had come along and told you (before the half baked plot came out) "Hey, man, In book 6...Snape kills Dumbledore right in front of Harry. And while that happens, Deatheaters are invading Hogwarts through the room of requirements."

How much credence would you have given such a statement?

Me, I'd have told them they were smoking some good shit and laughed at them.

But that's exactly what happened.

Myself, I doubt it's real... but at the same time I've got this niggling voice reminding me that Rowlings has been screwing up the series for a while now. So I'm not gonna discount it just yet. Not when there are security experts arguing as to whether or not the intrusion tactic was viable.
Some experts are claiming it's almost certainly a hoax, others are saying otherwise.

I smell bullshit, but if it turns out its true, i'll be amused that ron and hermione didn't just cower and shit it when meeting Voldie.

 

Even if this is bullshit I still hope Hermione dies. I will be so happy I may just forgive her for HBP.

 

If she dies, I won't use let my little cousin dubb it it's kingdom such as HBP.

 

If its true, which I highly doubt, then I'll weep over the fact that Ron is still alive and annoying me to high heaven after seven books.

 

Assuming that this is all real the only good new would be that Snape is a death eater. I don't know if anyone has been to a bookstore lately but the posters of him are pissing me off...
