Reasons Harry has a ring:

1. 
   Harry gets it for his birthday
   Inherits it.
   Buys it himself cause he wanted to
   Maybe he joins the Order and its a communication device
   A wild monkey with wings flew out of his ass and gave it to him.

All of these reasons are more probable than him and Ginny getting married.

 

*sigh* Did any of you consider the possibility that perhaps I wasn’t being totally serious when I wrote that – Er – ‘theory’. Of course Harry isn’t going to bloody marry Ginny.

The theories at Mugglenet, while plausible, really leave a lot to be desired from a plot perspective.

The traitor theory is certainly interesting and seems to have solid, although possibly circumstantial evidence to back it up. For instance, I personally think that Seamus wears the rings as part of his ‘character set’. I.e., In the same way that he walks around with his tie wrapped around his head, and his shirt untucked, and his sleeves pulled up. He’s meant to be a loud ‘cool’ Irish dude.

And come on, it’s Seamus, who really gives a fuck anyway. It’s not as if he’s a major character.

The ‘Seamus as a Muggle Royal’ theory is completely ridiculous. But then, I wouldn’t put it past Rowling.

‘Protecting the not-so innocent’. One fatal flaw – If Seamus’ mother was a death eater, she probably wouldn’t have married a Muggle.

 

I Like this reason most, and personally think its the most probable... i mean, in his current mind frame, if they let this kid inherit the seat to a powerful family... the worlds fucked... he wouldnt know what to do with it... give him to a darker wizard for a while... teach the kid how to get things DONE! ... THEN let him inherit it...

 

I just had a random thought. If Hagrids mother, Fridwulfa, was some type of royalty among the giants, then that would make Hagrid a half blood prince.

Interesting. But isn't Hagrid a half-breed? I’m not really sure of the distinction between the two, maybe a half-breed is also a half-blood.

 

Eh... he's got half the blood of a giant, half of a wizard. I just think it would be an ironic twist if he was the half blood prince.
