I have been trying to find fics in which Harry actively uses his celebrity status to gain political/social power. While there are a lot of fics in which he is politically powerful because he inherits Wizengamot seats, has the title Lord Griffindor/Potter/Black(the list goes on), owns half of the vaults in Gringotts etc., I haven't read any fics where he is an influencial person because he is the Boy-Who-Lived.

The only fic which comes close is My Life An Adventure.

Even if he dosent use his fame for political influence, he can easily be the most popular kid in Hogwart. Honestly, Harry enjoying and using his popularity isn't so far fetched. I have even seen AU fics in which Neville is the boy 'who lived' and acts like a spoilt brat - signing autographs, having his own fan club etc.

If you know of a decent story involving this, please, tell me.

VINCET, is a nice fic. And there are scenes in the story where Harry uses his fame for his personal gain, from what I remember. Give it a try.

 

Yeah, I was going to recommend that one. He doesn't come out and say, "I'm famous, give me shit," but he isn't adverse to using his fame when it suits. Or when nice stuff gets attributed to him that he had nothing to do with.

 

Oh God Not Again by Sarah1281 is a redo parody that includes this, we even get some pretty interesting interactions with Lockhart.

The Power by DarthBill also features this, even if it doesn't quite utilise its potential in my opinion.
