Mostly cliche free and no terrible writing errors that scream out at you.

Standard case of suspension of disbelief required regarding Fleur's inexplicable attraction to Harry.

Same. The dialogue was fine, but the author tried to go for both hot and funny and ended up doing neither in the sex scenes. That said, I could actually sort of buy the romance in this one.

 

While I'm glad Ron and Hermione finally managed to work things out without all the drama, there's a limit to this.

Also, the whole 'it is very submissive for a Veela to do this' (a blowjob) kind of doesn't mean much when you end up with a finger up your ass.

 

This was fairly entertaining.

This Harry has two things that canon Harry lacks. Confidence and competence.

Numerous spelling errors, though, and I swear that Harry sounds like an American.

Same here. More believable than a lot of other stories that attempt this pairing.

 

The ass play came after she got over her sub issues.

I cringed at the beginning, with them all getting sloshed etc, but i can't even remember if her allure was even mentioned once throughout, which gets extra points from me.

 

But can't you see, it's only Harry who has the mental fortitude to withstand her dreaded Veela Allure, therefore signifying to her she has found her soul-mate! She was so lonely for all her life, loved only by her family, until he, the boy with the most impossible green eyes, came into her life.

I'm gonna go bleach my brain now, that hurt to put into writing.

Seriously, what the fuck does 'impossibly green eyes' even mean? I swear, I see that shit being mentioned more often nowadays in HP fics.

 

In this case, I don't think it's meant to be some measurable standard where Harry's eyes are (R=0, G=255, B=0). It's just an observation of the person who said/thought it, and it has some personal emotional meaning for them.

People say some really sappy shit when when they get emotional.

 

To be fair, green eyes aren't super common, and those green eyes you do see are rarely the lush green of grass. Most green eyes are a kind of dirty green. So to see someone with perfectly green eyes is very rare.

 

Aye, if someone's eyes were 'R=0, G=255, B=0', i'd probably say unnaturally green. 'Impossibly' if i was smitten and my brain turned into a flower.

And apparently, only 1-2% of the population has green eyes, so like Taure said, they're pretty damned uncommon.

 

When I see eyes that green I am impossibly attracted as well. :3

 

Personally I'd probably think they're wearing contacts and promptly stop caring, lol.

 

See, you're all concerned with the prose, and I get that.

However, said fic also had Fleur schlicking the walls and ceiling with GLOWING GIRLSPUNK. I feel like on a scale of bad, this event takes slightly higher priority.

 

We have, unfortunately, seen much worse with this particular pairing.

I'd rather see long range projectile glowing girl spunk than veela bonds, veela super-maturity and 'my gilrlfriend is a vaguely human-shaped plasma canon'.

 

How else do veela mark their territory you ignoramus?

 

Actually I was more concerned with the anatomical improbability of its color being "milky white" and all the horrific things that implies, but sure.

 

They excrete their allure as paste, into a can. Then they paint it on the walls with a brush, or a roller if they're especially productive.

Yeah, the prose...come on, Mr Twitchy? That alone should indicate that it is not to be taken seriously.

 

Let's just all agree that while amusing (at times), it's a pretty bad story. I really wish the community had more to offer than this.
