That ^ story seems to bring some life back to the H/F community. Mentioned in the almost recommended thread, it does have a serious problem with typos and small errors, but with the idea and what is written so far falls squarely on the recommended side.

If the author finds a beta, it can actually turn into a very good fic.

 

Depends on how he handles the overarching story, that is Harry vs Voldemort and the Marauders, and the romance part.

But I have to admit, I do like his characterization of Harry quite a bit.

"Champion" is an odd fic.

I suppose I'm comparing this to another fic where Voldemort won the war and took control of Britain, "Prince of the Dark Kingdom", and it simply doesn't measure up. I know it's not fair of me to do so, as they are written by different authors, and go on about completely different stuff, but fuck it.

Do Voldemort and the rest of the merry bunch really think that the muggleborns and half-bloods will remain docile when they get Cruciated and cursed fairly regularly in Hogwarts? I mean, if that's what happens to children, what the fuck happens to them when they eventually grow up? The Marauders are gonna expand their franchise all across Britain, I think.

Frankly, I'm surprised Snape hasn't tried to do something to Lily, presuming that in this fic's past they had once been friends, in the years after Voldemort won.

Also, it's strange to see Peter Pettigrew brought up in a story and not as a traitor.

This fic just got updated after a year or two. It's a cute romp, with a premise that at least gets Harry out of Privet drive and with Fleur in a way that doesn't destroy suspension of disbelief. So far, it's just Harry/Fleur friendship, and who knows, it may stay that way. There's a couple places that the fic slides into DLP pet-peeves, not to mention a few spelling/grammar errors, but overall, there's also a decent story with a premise that I haven't seen.

After the third task, Krum and Fleur visit Harry in the Infirmary to talk over how to honor Cedric. They decide on tattoos, and it becomes Fleur's job to pick Harry up and slip him to Bulgaria for a day to get it. The only problem is that it happens the same night as the Dementor attack. When the Order comes to check on him, he's gone.

 

That sounds awful tbh.
