Glory to the Awesome that is Harry/Fleur!

So, now to the reason why I necro'ed: Need people to comment on my long term plot for my story in WBA (Magnate). And yes, it is H/F. Or at least, I plan for it to be. Here's what I have so far:

Set in an AU without a prophecy. Voldemort wins. The Potters survive but are (divorced/separated) while James gets custody of Harry when he was two. Relations between the J/L are cold and only recently do they reconnect again. They're a stepmom in there somewhere that doesn't play too big a role aside from being the one who lets it slip to Harry that she isn't his mom. Drama, drama, Harry deals with it. Oh, I'm forgetting he has a younger half-brother he's close with despite all of this going down.

Anyway, anti-Voldemort elements eventually rebel (and get crushed sometime during his 2nd year) eventually resulting in James, Lily and Stepmom all dying while Harry and his brother are abroad studying at Durmstrang. Left with no other family and no one to run to (I mean, the government does want them dead to teach other would be dissenters a harsh lesson), Harry decides to take it upon himself to keep him and his brother alive and cared for no matter what. He comes out of the situation placing Family above all else and is willing to do anything to keep them safe. Takes studies even more seriously (he already was before parents die).

He grows up being the provider and has to mature very quickly to deal. During his 4th year, he's recognized for his exceptional talent in charms. While not considered old enough to be a competitor for the Triwizard Tournament (in France), they think he would be excellent as "support" for their other candidates. The way I've set it up is so that each school knew of it in advance and decide to give their champions as much student help (since professors aren't allowed to interfere) beforehand to sway things in their favor (hopefully).

This sets up Harry and Fleur meeting, starting a friendship, but not getting into a relationship. At this point in time, both of them aren't interested/in different relationships(?) (this part I have not decided yet). Triwizard ends, France wins, Voldemort rages at his country losing.

Next few years so increasing escalation between British and French relations, with Voldemort just looking for a good enough cassus belli so that the other European countries don't get involved. By the time he attacks (in 1-2 years), he's played several countries against each other diplomatically so that no one's willing to interfere. He puts into a power a pro-pureblood puppet Ministry much like the one in Britain. Half breeds who do not work or support the new regime are hunted down. The Delacour parents are caught and executed (because getting into Voldemort's shitlist is pretty much an irrevokable death warrant).

It's at this point Harry faces a huge moral dilemma. Does he get actively involved in fighting the regime, using whatever influence he has accrued while in hiding, or stay safely in exile, praying that Voldemort never gets to him and his brother? Eventually, he realizes Voldemort's aspirations won't end in France as soon as he picks up on signs that the Regime is moving on Spain, taking care to isolate it like they did to France.

He begins to work among the other European countries to form some sort of alliance to counteract this emerging superpower. Thus, he is hard at work fixing Germany's relationships with everyone else (them being the main backers of Grindelwald a few years ago has not been forgotten) all the while starting up his own version of the Order to run a covert war in advance and buy the other countries as much time as possible.

That's all I've got, considering I've only written 5 chapters (25k) of it.

 

eh, I’m not so proud as to think plenty of people have read my story or that they would wish to read it just to be able to comment on my plot.

Also, this is my 6th story (not counting the previous Magnate a few uears ago which is now almost completely different).
