FFnet and DLP are your best bets, I'm pretty sure.

There aren't that many good Harry/Fleur fics out there. What have you read so far? I might be of more help if I know which stories you've read.

I confess, what I'd like to read most is a fifth year based Harry/Fleur. But not with Fleur at Hogwarts. I'd like one where they set up meetings in Hogsmeade and where she teaches Harry more advanced magic and the like. Plus, that would in turn help Harry train the DA more effectively. I mean that could be fun.
With sneaking out of Hogwarts while Umbridge is there marauder style, spying on Malfoy using the Cloak, (it would be a great place to gather a large amount of wizards close to Hogwarts) and learning about Voldemort's plans. Plus, Fleur could have a job at Gringots monitoring which death eaters are bribing ministry officials etc etc. Maybe someone can write something like that? That could be briliant if done well I think.
the only problem I see is how to develop a believable relationship without it feeling contrived.

Anyway, anyone have advice on how to figure out how to use this site? I'm totally blind, so learning to navigate an unfamiliar webpage can get complicated on a laptop.

Seems to me like you're looking to write your own fic. You have very specific search parameters.

From the main site, your best bet is the Library section and the Work By Author section. Look on the fics there for something that might fit. Searching by tag might work, but won't show everything.

Regardless, I'm pretty sure all the Harry/Fleur fics on DLP can also be found on FFnet.

Well, damn then. I think I've almost finished anything remotely readable on ffn. I could try writing something, problem is I am an extremely lazy person. Why? I'm in my last year of high school. Good thing I'm almost done with that torture house.

Any tips on planning out the plot?

Harry was busy spying on Malfoy to learn Voldemort's plans when Fleur entered the Three Broomsticks. He had snuck out under his Invisibility cloak during a Hogsmeade weekend to follow his enemy, but thus far, the only good bit of information he had found was that Fleur was back in Hogsmeade. She made a beeline for him when he casually whipped the cloak from his head and feigned disinterest.

"We need to talk," she said, almost dragging him away. Of course, she was ridiculously pretty, so he didn't offer much resistance. As soon as they left the bar, she set off toward the Shrieking Shack; after a moment's silence, during which he stared amorously at Fleur's arse, Harry decided to follow. After all, he would give anything to hear Fleur scream.

"What are we talking about? Goblin bribery, evil politicians or awful French literature--"

"Don't test me, Harry. You know what this is about."

He tried not to look ashamed, but it wasn't the easiest thing underneath her narrowed stare. "Okay, okay. I'm sorry about Seamus--"

"You want me to help tutor your friends, yet they end up groping me whenever I try! You expect me to meet you during Hogsmeade weekends, but you spend the afternoon chasing that awful boy. I teach you advanced magic, and give you the occasional lap dance, and what do I get in return?"

He glanced around them but found no over-eager listeners. He said something under his breath that sounded curiously like, "Sex with a fifteen year old?"

He realized belatedly that she knew a lot more curses than him, and what's more, she was allowed to use them outside of a school. She said nothing, arse sashaying to the beat of Harry's racing pulse. "Wishful thinking, I suppose..."

No, I meant spying on Lucius. Not Draco.

Anyway, as to getting tortured in college, I know that's going to happen. I live in a little town with a population under 6,000 so want to try something new.

May or may not be the right place to ask this question, but which stories have the best Fleur characterizations? I think The Lie I've Lived, Bungle in the Jungle and Prince of the Dark Kingdom have the best Fleur. Any others, particularly in non-Harry/Fleur stories?

Honestly, I'm not a huge fan of many of the Fleur characterizations out there. It seems like quite a few stories jump on the Lie characterization of her. I'm still waiting to see Fleur characterized like she was in the 4th book. I have a lot of hope for What You Leave Behind though. She's a bit of a snob in that one.

Enjoy high school while you can. Hell just enjoy living at home in general. Once you have college or a full time job and bills you are going to miss those days.

People plan out plots in different ways. Some people don't plan them out at all though I really don't recommend that especially to new authors. Google some different methods and pick one that you think will work for you and go with it. Read the links under writing assistance and post whatever you come up with for your first chapter in the work by author section so people can rip it apart and you can write it again and hopefully make it better using their suggestions.

I will second this. The story is great and I am really liking Fleur's character even though there hasn't been a lot of her.

You could peruse DLP's harry/fleur tag: [link]

Or use Scryer, DLP's search engine of choice, to trawl FF.net for stories, like so: [link]

(What am I even doing in this thread? I hate romance.)

    I'll third this?

I really like the "snob" aspect to Fleur's character in WYLB. In the hands of a competent author it can be pulled off, and Newcomb's very competent. And maybe if they see this they'll be inspired to write.

Well, I did like it, but don't know how to like a post. Like I said, just figuring out how to use this web site. When working with a screen reader, a web site is presented vertically. This means that every link, and object is presented on a different line. At least to me.
If I was using my iPad, it would be a bit easier, but my parents think I spend to much time playing zombie arena, so that wasn't an option.

I haven't read that one yet, only because I want there to be more before I commit to it. Basically, I don't like waiting for updates. Though from the reviews and what I have skimmed through, it looks solid.
I hope there is more by the end of summer, since I'll be too busy to read anything over most of it.
