He posted a story. It got criticized a bit. He took it personally, deleted all copies of his story, and got into an argument about it. With Vash and a few others, I think.

After being faar more harshly for deleting it, he gave up arguing, and made a new account. And got banned.

Disappointing really. He was far closer to being a constructive member than many of the other newbies.

You failed to point out that he made a new account, and posted on it, just to make it seem as if someone was actually agreeing with him.

    ...

    Actually read it next time?

Edit: And no, he didn't make it to seem as if someone was agreeing with him. He called himself a total moron for arguing with the mods.

Such a pity I learned about this instance from SB, I looked over the issues at hand, but then some idiot brought in the Whining by other authors who complain fervently and go depressed when we issue a critisism of their work, typically the slash or H Ginny writers, if it can be called that and in other news new H Fleur, can't say much as there is only one chapter but, don't know if any one brought it up but her is a link, though Fleur Gran as one of the apparent uber Veela.... anyway link

Someone posted it in the review section already, but yeah - not much can be said since it's only one chapter.

Although it seems that hearing her grandmother's voice makes her panties drip...I suspect Fleur/G'mom Veela in the future.

    New HP/FD Fic on Fanfiction.net

Harry Potter: Rise of the Technomancers
Found a new one on Fanfiction.net. Not bad and the postings are like uber fast. Dude Posted like fifteen chapters in one day, word count's over 70k at the moment. Kind of slow in the beginning, not your typical HP/FD that jumps right into the bump and grind, but it looks promising. lots of back ground and the story progresses pretty quickly.

Synopsis says its a Harry/Fleur/Gabrielle fic (Sounds good eh?;) ).

    http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4493073/1/Harry_Potter_Rise_of_the_Technomancers

I like it so far. Harry's not a whinny bitch, everyone in the Order are not a bunch of frickin morons like they usualy are. And for once, Dumbledore isn't some powerhungry madman trying to steal from Harry. he's a realistic Canon Dumbledore. Don't really know where to put this though.

Starts as a post Azkaban fic, but then he gives Dumbledore the finger and runs off, so what, Independant? Azkaban? not sure, but it's a good read.
    4-5/5, in my book.

    I am suspicious.

A persons first post is recommending a story that they think is awesome. Is it the author himself?

    Still, I'll read on...

    Anyone who hates betrayal fics...

    Not to mention this...

Oh yes, this story is awesome.

I continued further on and there a lot more quotes that would make you facepalm but I think I've went overboard as it is...

Yeah, I'm reading it atm. I was surprised in a good way, by how it started ... for the first half of the first chapter. Coincidentally, that was where the newspaper articles ended and the real writing began. And bam!, there's the dramatic Stay-away-from-us-we-don't-want-to-have-anything-to-do-with-you-letter (TM) from his "friends".

The reasons for their betrayal don't work usually, and they don't work here, either. So far I'm feeling not very excited anymore, but we'll see. I'm not that far into the story yet.

... nrmpf! Ninja'ed by Dark Belra.

    Edit:
Forced myself through chapter three. At this time, the only things that keeps me reading is the stated pairing. If I have to read "Lord Moldyshorts" or "Lord Moldypants" for one more time, I'm going to leave a Flame. Gah.

Sesc, don't bother. It only gets worse.

    An extract from further on.
It's almost like the guy read Potter Laws and did the exact opposite.

Yeah, well ... besides all that, I guess it's not really for me. I fast forwarded to the last chapters, and it looks like what I had feared it would be from the title: Harry revolutionising the wizarding world by being the first person ever to get the idea of combining Muggle- and Wizard-tech.

That's just not me. I read HP to read about magic, not muggle things. Apparently, Harry founds a company, calls himself Evan Robert Magius and he does all that from Japan, so there's a good chance we'll see some Jap-Crap. I'll put this aside until I have nothing better to do.

From what I have read (first four and two later chapters), not more than 2/5; maybe a 3 if you like Technomagic.

    Edit:
And what is that later on? Messiah!Prophet!Revolutionist!Harry? "This book is a guide to those who would change the world ... Book I: The Book of Nemesis" o_O

Well, if you like reading about Harry the Revolutionist ...

Ughh... I pushed through all the crap and am now going to give an appropriate summary.

Weasley hate, not knowing the time period (wizarding Starbucks), fail, fail, and more fail.

Wizarding Starbucks? HAHAHHAH thats just stupid now if he had done say Wizarding Sonic it might have been alright but Starbuck this guy is a twit, if I do something outside the timeline I'll tell you before hand, and those were mainly stories I wrote years ago.
I think some one found the Uber Incubus thread cause HP and the Halcyon Phan whatever looks to be going that root as of chapter two however it might be alright the writing is there sort of realistic first kill scenario.

The life bond thing that Gabrielle gets with Harry. I count that as a soul bond.

It is a Soulbond. He later gets it with Fleur as well, and it's said that it connects their souls or something. Can be used to share magic and what have you.

But enough with this story already. I got a much better idea, as of now titled The French Affair or L'affaire française (but I dunno if it got both meanings in French, frenchies, anyone?), where I could use some help.

It's post Hogwarts, and I need a reason for England to plan a war with France. Somehow, I can't think of anything. An international incident ... yes, but what exactly? Or maybe France has something England wants, but again, what? An argument over import-cauldrons? Doesn't really cut it, I fear.

In turn, I need England to have something of importance for France to prevent the war from happening -- maybe a new weapon, which a spy can destroy or steal, or maybe important documents or whatever.

The corset of the story is solid in my opinion (although, I might bounce those ideas around a bit as well), only I need this back-story and so far I'm drawing blank.

Depends. Is "The French Affair" supposed to have a second meaning?

We could use the veil of death in the ministry. We could pretend that the French have heard that it links to the realm of the dead and they just so happen to have a book/person who specialises in those kind of things.

Cliche but I think that Nuhuh has proven that even cliches can be good.
Same as above. The English could possibly want to control death it self.

The corset of the story is solid in my opinion, only I need this back-story and so far I'm drawing blank.[/quote]

A backstory on the object of war?

Well, we could go with the French got a little scared as to how close Voldemort got/is getting to taking over the MoM. The French believe it's time to intervene except, since they tried to step in, the ministry sees this as an act of war.

Later on, you could say that a French spy was caught sending information away back to France. He was caught at a point where the info is gone but everyone knows he is a spy. Expert mind readers tear apart his mind and now both countries know about this weapon/veil of death/plot device that escalates the cold war into a full out war.

As to more ideas for the plot device. Maybe the common resource for wands is running out. Maybe France or England are at a desperate moment as the wand material is running out and the opposite country has a good enough amount that they need.

Maybe France sees an oppourtunity to expand their territory? Not much more then that in war.
