I have this writer, I think called J. K. Rowling, she wrote some fics this kind.

 

I know. But I have gotten bored out of reading fanfiction where everything goes right for our hero, saves the day without even breaking a sweat. I want to read fics where its the exact opposite.

 

I don't think I've seen one where Harry just dies and the story ends.

It's a pretty common launch point for a crossover (e.g., Firefly): Harry is defeated, is put into a magical coma, is tossed through the Veil, etc.

One story of the type requested is Socks by Deadwoodpecker: "Draco Malfoy's murder of Albus Dumbledore causes chaos. AU. Harry/Ginny."

 

I love Socks, everything by Ella (dwp) is generally highly recommended by me.
