Hey guys, I was looking up Hamlet on SparkNotes and found study guides for Harry Potter, lol.

Haven't read 'em but http://www.sparknotes.com/lit/index_h.html if your interested.

On an unrelated note, isn't it high time we remove the DH sub forum?

    That's... an interesting site.

I thought that SparkNotes came in those small yellow books, or is that cliff notes?

I expected Sparknotes would be generating one, especially with some schools actually treating it as an example of contemporary literature of value. Then again, it's also handy for anyone who doesn't want to muddle through 3000+ pages of Harry's adventures just to be on the same page as their kid.

Oh boy, this is interesting. I didn't think anyone would need a study guide for Harry Potter even if they were taking a class on it. I have a friend that attends a different college and she only took the Harry Potter Lit. course because she wouldn't have to read much. So really, I can't see there being much a demand for those things.

Nightfox actually came up with the best reason for it. Some parents really wouldn't have any interest in the series but would want to have something they could discuss with their kids, this would make it a lot easier.

    Lol. That's actually pretty funny.

I haven't read them, but I get the feeling that there's going to be a section on "Real World Religious Interpretation." Harry Potter just begs to be hated on by the religious community.

My university included PS as part fo the Children's Lit. Course.

Of course, that's not half as bad as the FanFiction course where the prof made a friend of mine read piles of HP slash.

You joking...right? I don't think any of my english teachers ever mentioned fanfiction even in passing. To go so far as to acknowledge the fact that HP slash even exists in a classroom full of people that probably hate the stuff...
