This is an old story, written shortly (like a week) after OotP came out. In my opinion this is actually a pretty well-written story, no H/G (that I remember), very little fluff for any romance, and an interesting ending. One of my personal favorites, if only to realize how good fanfiction was before HBP-era.

 

I just skimmed through it. It was a turn off with Harry Brooding over Sirius, Harry collects Hard Rock music and listens to it. The big surprise is that, Draco Malfoy likes Eminem. Hahahahaha. Freakin fangirls.

 

Well, Draco does look a bit like our esteemed M&M's, so it's completely plausible. I haven't read the story but Harry listening to Hard Rock or something like that is stupid IMO. I don't have an excuse why I don't like that kind of stories, just that I don't like Hard Rock or guitar music at all

Umm....
I listen to a bit "EMO" Rock, Simple Plan.... And YES they are classified as an "EMO" rock band...
1. The lyrics (seriously, listen to them! and they fit soooo god to "independant Harry" )
2. The singer is male and have a high voice
Alto they DO classify themselves as "Punk".... Well "Pop Punk" actually...
But then again... The origion of "EMO" rock is hardcore punk and indie rock...

But juding by their actualy music id say they're an EMO band...


Anyway, just becouse its "EMO" rock doesnt mean they dont have a guitar...
But there are many kinds of "EMO" music...
Emocore, Hardcore emo, Emo violence, Screamo are the few that i know...


Another band that I can think of right now is "My chemical romance"

Whatever happened to REAL bands such as AC/DC, Ozzy Osbourne, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, The Doors...etc.

My god, the only modern band I listen to is Nickelback...and even that is occasional and I'm 17. Age is no excuse for poor music!!!!!!

 

All of the good music died when Alice in Chain's album Dirt came out...well...except for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, they're an exception. And even then, they are a totally different brand of music than the awesome rock of the 70s and 80s. It's because of them damn hippity-hoppers! They're ruining life as we know it!

Thirded, madeyemoody. And I do have to agree with madeyemoody, age is no determiner of music preference. I myself am only 18 and I like the Beatles.

 

Every single group you listed is overrated and overplayed. AC/DC was possible the least creative group ever, Ozzy Osbourne was decent, but most of his Black Sabbath stuff was crap with the exception of two songs. Led Zeppelin was good at what they did - Hard 70's rock with tough guitars, nothing else, Pink Floyd was blah, with the exception of Dark Side of the Moon, The Beatles were great, but Jesus christ, people need to get off their dicks, and The Doors was trash.

 

Wtf? My six-year-old sister likes the Beatles. Anyone at any age in any point in time can like any type of music.

But they still kick pretty much every band in the last 10 years' asses. They may be unoriginal, sure, but were definitely one of the best bands of their genre.

Has anyone listened to the new band Jet? They're the ones with the "Are you gonna be my Girl?" song, but that's easily one of their worst songs. Their album Get Born is quite possibly one of the best albums I've ever heard. They're an Australian band who mixes the Stones, AC/DC, and all other hard rock bands of the 70s to make their own type of music which is very good.

By the way, has anyone ever gotten how Blue Oyster Cult can be considered heavy metal? They are one of the poppiest bands that I've ever heard...
