Delighted to see this being updated, and it was a pretty good chapter overall. As has been said though, it felt a little rushed, both in terms of plot and technically - it was riddled with typos.

Looking forward to year two though, and looking forward to my reread just as much.

I liked this update for several reasons: 1) we got to see hints of James/Lily's past (plus the Sirius thing was explained), 2) Dumbledore broke his facade of super-niceness with James, 3) Dumbledore is awesome, and him mentioning Harry like that hints towards more awesomeness, and 4) the whole Mad-Eye/Order of the Phoenix segment was cool, along with Dumbledore later dismissing the Order as a minor nuisance.

I don't have any criticisms for this chapter; overall it was well-written and interesting.

I'm really looking forward to Harry's adventures as he gets older (things can only get more exciting after first year) as well as the cool magic he'll learn. I also hope James debuts whatever brooms he's developing (for some reason I can't wait for this arc to be revealed more), so keep things coming.

Great update; whereas the previous one felt a little rushed, this one was just right. Well written, and some fascinating background. Love your Dumbledore, particularly.

I'm liking how James' character is being fleshed out. He's not overprotective of Harry, and gives him the space any good father would. Interesting how the Order is still up and running, though it's not very effective without Dumbledore it seems.

    Definitely eager for next chapter.

... right. So I am reading the updates, and WHAT THE FUCK MAN ;_; I read a few paragraphs, and want to kill puppies. Or Harry, the spineless worm, either works. It's like you took all my criticism and predictions, multiplied it by hundred, and wrote a chapter with it. Y u do dis to me, Blank :(

The shitty culmination of the Hermione subplot. This is literally painful to read. The written equivalent of nails on chalkboard. Harry fears to meet Hermione because she might say something, panics when he actually meets her, looks down because she looks at him coldly, and then apologises for something he didn't fucking do.

No, no he doesn't have to do anything. Except bitchslap her and tell her that if she minds being a werewolf, would she kindly blame herself and not others, because she was the one who wanted to run to Lupin in the middle of the night.

    Seriously. This drives me crazy.

I mean, give him that collar that says 'Hermione's property' already :| You might as well, considering he likes being her doormat for some reason. If you add a dominatrix outfit, it might even get interesting again.

The rest is good, yes. Ron cool, Dumbledore interesting, James believable, the over-archiving plot centred around the Empire great. Just ... do something with Harry. Please?

    Edit:
Something I actually liked was the end of the first updated chapter, when Riddle and Snape appear in their dorms. Very believable. He's the Headmaster, and he knows wtf is going on in his castle. Harry & co getting away with taking the prophecy would have been unrealistic.
