A little off topic, but I am freaking sick and tired of seeing the word "know" in place of "now." They aren't even pronounced the same.

I've seen stories that are 'rushed' before (I'd consider my own to be a bit rushed to start with..) but that, eh, thats another word I haven't bothered to think up yet.

I think we're getting snobbier with age--reading the reviews from several years ago is like watching a satire. All these old threads that have been dug up--people were a lot more lenient back then.

 

Of course we are, its just development.

What is new and original now, will be cliche and old in a few years. Apart from some gems, of course. Few stories last the test of time around here though.

 

Bad writing is universal, across all stages of development. I still wish there was a good Harry/Naricssa/Bellatrix story.

Sometimes I wonder whether HP fanfiction will last so long that the old and unoriginal will become refreshing and back in fashion again.
