So, I've been stumbling around fanfic.net as always, searching for new and interesting fictions. I stumbled on a story that I at first thought was a rewrite by the same author. It starts out with Harry Potter leaving Hogwarts to join the "last of the druids" and take on the overly evil and manipulative Dumbledore.

When this story started veering way off course from the fun, but admittedly fluff tale I remembered, I looked at the author. According to Talen Dari, this is his first fanfiction ever. Yet whole passages are taken from the story I remember, including the OC names. I would bring this to Talen Dari's attention, (and the original authors) but I am having trouble finding the original.

So once again:
Harry Potter and Hermione Granger leave Hogwarts to join the tutelage of "The Last Druid" who takes them to the mythical land of the Irish Gods. Here they are trained to be incredibly powerful, after which they leave Avalon and return home to kick ass, take names, and carry on in the Druid tradition.
Along the way, Remus Lupin is cured of his disease, Sirius is happy, and both become trapped in Avalon forever after.

Correct me if I am wrong but is Harry Potter: A Fresh Start the story you are reading?(I searched, Harry Potter and the Last Druids, it was no where to be found.)

Anyway I read HP : A Fresh Start (couldn't continue after 1st chap.) and checked it's reviews. Some of the reviewers were complaining that the last chapter was same as the old one. I think what you are calling 'original' was part of this story but was deleted and in place of it, new chapter is uploaded(don't know why, apparently both were same).

So you don't need to find original author, just ask Talen Dari(what the hell is his problem?).

I though HP: A Fresh Start was the plagiarized version -- but yeah - I wouldn't put this on the almost recommendable list, so read at your own risk.

 

That story is all about extreme bashing and OC characterizing. Awful. On my scale it's a 0/5.

 

No arguments. Like I said, I was just trying to find the "real" version so I would have proof when I slapped down the author/reported him for stealing his story. I, personally, can't stand plagiarism, and go out of my way to comment on it.

 

I attempted to read the story in question, curious if I could recognize anything that was plagiarized. Unfortunately the story is so incredibly terrible I had to close it before the first chapter ended. Perhaps you could elaborate on what you think was ripped off?

The only story I can recall off the top of my head is A Druid's Apprentice by xyvortex. This is rather old, however. The first story was completed in 2004.
