No, I really don't beleive that anyone is honestly liking this story any more.

Can you imagine people reading this and going:

"Wow, they are in love and connected on so many levels, except on physical one. That is soooo cute and.... just right. Hey! Get your hands off her, buster, wait for marriage!"

    or:

"I just LOVE Griphook, he is soo good and wise and cute while driving his mine-cart and the wind is rufling his batlike ears... It's like having a pet and father figure in a single package!"

Nah, I don't think anyone is reading this becouse they are fascinated with Luna having a fairy collony living in her ears or Harry the Merlin's reincarnation playing with Lego toys in his 20-ies.

No, this is one of those fics that are written fairly and professionally, but which plot and characters are so bad, that it's fun following them just to see how stupid they can get (and ripping them off afterwards). It's like BobMin's stories, only much, much worse.

I just read this today. Like all of you the evil!dumbledore and independent!harry got me interested. Then I read the first two chapters and her bio. 42 year old born-again christian mothers who home school their children have no business writing independent!harry. I actually like Harry/Hermione fics but I can't stand uber goblins and wandless magic, and if harry starts looking for parental figures outside his species, well that just ends it for me right there.

Hahahoh man... post the reply if she gives you one. I can totally see Harry using throwing knives out of legos, or Voldemort slipping on one of his legos and breaking his neck when he raids his house and the deatheaters screaming, "Don't you ever pick up your toys?!"

It doesn't belong here. Put it in the Works by Author section.

This is her reply to my review.

Whew - why did you read 37 chapters then? But I will address a few of your complaints.

Who says goblins are ruthless? Hagrid? He's got a rather limited Dumbledore-tainted veiw on life. Goblins are so bloodthirsty they can't adopt or nurture young?

Who says you have to kiss/have sex etc before marriage? Many cultures do not - ours use to be that way until the 1960s. Funny - the high divorce rates started around then too. Men and women use to be romantics and work toward life-time relationships. The wizarding world is very behind the muggle world in many ways - I chose to make the relationships one of those.

I've already written author notes on why I chose a robin for Harry. It's my story - I'll make his animagus a snail if I choose.

I had written a battle between Harry and Albus, and I didn't like it. I liked the irony of Dumbledore falling to a typical muggle desease. You sound like a reader that likes powerful/independent Harry fics - this isn't one of them. Harry in my fic is someone whose strength comes from his relationship with many people of many backgrounds.

What 20 year old plays with Lego? Are you serious? I'm a 47 year old that plays with Lego! Lighten up! Toys are great - if you are too old for toys, you are too old!

The folks that get mad about Ginny and Ron comming around are typically the kind that like powerful Harry fics. Again, wrong type of story. They are only children for crying out loud! One of the most powerful wizards in the world has been influencing them through hexes and money the past 6 years - any parent would like to see them cleaned up and redeemed.

Sorry you wasted your time reading it. Find yourself a nice super-godlike-Harry fic and get my story out of your system.

    Bev (Wheezy1)

In that thing you call a closet. Better watch out,
Well she WAS right, you do read powerful cool Harry stories not I-Love-everyone!Harry.

.....She/He is obviously living at home and a virgin.

Why do they leave thiefs in the vaults for 10 years, why do they have Dragon's guard the vaults, why do they threaten you that once you enter if you steal you die?

    P0wur of L0ve!!!111!1!!1121!31!#$

Same reason for who says you have to kiss.

What parent would be influenced by money to let their child spy? If they are only children why are they spying? Don't kids and teenagers typically read fanfiction NOT adults....so no a parent wouldn't want them redeemed as they more typically do not read this.

Will do. *goes off to read Potter's Resistance again*

Eh, She made some good points. It really doesn't seem like the type of stories most people on this site would like. It's all a matter of personal tastes.

You got a reply for the legos? *pouts* Dammit! Am I too nice or something in my reviews? (that's probably it, I make habit of not flaming people) I can't even encourage a reply!

Pfft. Anyway, this fic looks close to ending, only a few chappies left. I have to say it gives her credit to have planned it out enough to finish the story. However, that Voldemort death scene a chapter or so ago really bothered me! How.. fluffy? Easy? I don't know, just seemed extremely wrong to me, but the lack of heavy description in this author's style made it easy to scan over the scene without loosing many details.

Not that it's exactly a good thing I can do that...

really good story, not reallly a big fan of Ron so it was good when he is gone but still in the end he is forgiven which i wish didn't happen.

not tons of action but good writing wouldn't say harry is really alone ever he is always pretty much with 3 people.

and whats with luna being the prankster?

Exiled..check her profile. She now has 4 sories, including a Dark!Harry that actually is very good. I reviewd a few times for Manipulator of Destiny, but i never got a reply...too bad.

At the least, i have to say that i'm impressed that she wrote a fic of this quality in some 2-3 months. Not bad at all.

I couldent continue to read this story after I read this: "But Snape loathed him, and Griphook, on the other hand, always treated him with respect and was obviously looking out for his best interest. Harry smiled as calmly as he could. “OK, Griphook – I trust you”."

So, I was told that if I really wanted a story off the Library, I should put a review on it. Well, here goes nothing.

This story is pretty much everything you hate about the indy!Harry genre mashed up in one fic. Contains horrible cliches like angsting over Sirius, “Greater Good” Dumbledore, Weasley Bashing, mega-Inheritance, multi-millionaire Potters and Blacks, Harmony (the Robst Kind), super helpful Goblins, extensive shopping at Diagon Alley, Harry getting trained in Goblin Magic, wandless magic, and the Weasley twins finishing each other’s sentences. And that’s just chapters 1-6.

Perhaps some of these things were okay back in 2006, but by modern standards, there’s nothing worse you could read.

There is also an absurd amount of gayness in the story. Here are two actual quotes from the story.

(I forgot to mention that the fic also has Harry training in a time-enclosed training room for about three years within two weeks. Later on, he gets trained by the Founders as well.)

Every chapter, there is some kind of angsty/gay scene. Chapter 8 has a scene where Winky's singing a lullaby to Harry (it's his first time hearing a lullaby or something, and he gets all feel-y). In Chapter 9, an eighteen-year-old Harry plays with legos. And so on.

It also has stupid shit like Harry having the abused house elves as his new family and saying that he “found a new mom in Winky.”

The story also has one of the worst Dumbledore bashings I’ve read until now.
Dumbledore has been stealing from the Potter vaults. He ignored James and Lily’s will, and placed Harry in Privet Drive illegally. He placed charms in Privet Drive so that the Dursleys would hate Harry. Similarly, he charmed Snape to hate Harry, while having Hagrid, McGonagall, the Centaurs under loyalty charms directed to him. He also placed Bellatrix under the imperious and made her kill Sirius. Basically, pretty much any and every bad thing that happens in the story is because of Dumbledore. And the worst part is that Harry & Co. thwarts every plan Dumbledore made with no effort.

    And finally,
the author decided to kill off Dumbledore dies with a heart attack.
    …….. :wall:

Anyways, technical writing is probably the only decent point of the story. It actually has complete sentences, and there aren't too many grammatical errors. These two things alone make this story better than 70-80% of fanfics. Still there are errors like
    I use to --> I used to
that make this story even more difficult to read.

1.5/5, rounded down to a 1. It is technically readable, and if you enjoy Idiot!Dumbles type of stories, go ahead and read this. Otherwise, I'd advise you to stay away from this with a ten foot pole.

TL;DR : Help me get this shit off the library.

Library is here to be necro'd. WbA, though... you might have to prepare your anus, unless your post is exceptionally insightful and helps the author.

I don't think we should remove the story. It's absolute garbage that was probably garbage when IP posted it in '06, but I don't think we should be deleting these crappy old story's.

I've been on this site since '05 (holy shit, 10 years this month) and reading HP FF since '03, which is really kind of sad and pathetic. But FF has changed a lot in the last decade, there's been a lot of great authors/stories, and at the time we didn't necessarily hate a lot of your gripes. I distinctly remember going through a "goblin-magic" phase back in '06.

For me DLP is a museum for Harry Potter fan fiction, it's a compendium of some of the best fan fiction available, even if those stories don't always stand the test of time.

Yeah, but this story already was crap even before the last chapter was posted. Just go through the original 2006 reviews.

I'll give you all some days to post your final reviews and then I move it into the trash bin.
