I've read this one before... I share the Doctor's reaction. That section should be read aloud over the phones at poison control centers nation wide for a safe and effective means of inducing reverse peristalsis.

The Romance part is an absolute fail. Daphne being her Slytherin self or not it still was utterly unbelievable and pathetic. Everything else was OK, I guess, but this is a Romance/Angst story (where's angst, by the way?) and I will rate it as such.

2/5 Because I feel generous tonight.

I think it's misclassified on ficwad. The author has it as Romance/Humor on fanfiction.net.

And I agree with most folks here. The romance does nothing for me but it's a very simple and pleasant read. The bashing at the start felt unenthusiastically cliched but sometimes I appreciate this kind of safe fluffy read.

3/5 for me as so far it's recycling bin worthy and depending on where it goes, I could see that going up.

NOTE: I also edited the first post to reflect the Romance/Humor and a second link to the fic.

hehe, love the two stories Dumbledore has been told! cant wait to see Ginny being put in her place.

The only thing that irked me is the whole, harry owning a club and going dancing thing... I have never liked that in any story.

    But still, 4/5

Decent story, not the best around, but good for a light read.

I didn't like that Daphne has 'fallen in love' after a week. 3/5.

A romance story with some pieces of humour (Dumbledore having no BS filter for example:)). Except for that, a decent and readable time killer.

Have DLP's standards for Romance fics really sunk so low? I suspect it's largely due to the Harry/Daphne pairing. If the pairing of the fic was different, I believe most wouldn't give it the time of the day. I know I would never have bothered reading past the first chapter if so.

This fic is nothing different from the standard cliched Romance shit where even the frostiest "Ice Queen" has her cold exterior melted by the simple gooooodness of Harry's nature and personality- How Harry's intended partner is always amazed by such an honest, caring and morally upright man who can do no wrong, despite having pretty much lived a life of suffering. I think I'm going to be sick.

I agree that there are some good bits in this fic, like the bullcrap Harry and Neville fed to Dumbledore, but the author simply fails at writing romance. Seeing as the fic is focused on romance and little more, it fails too, by extension.

2/5, and that's only because of the pairing. It's most definitely not worthy of the Library.

I have to agree with Lucullus. I read it for Daphne, and there were some shining moments, but it's little more than cliche-riddled fluff. It's great as a drabble, but given as how DLP is my last bastion for a higher quality of HP Fanfiction, I don't think this quite makes it.

Its a good enough light read, nothing too serious but enough to pass the time with. Chapter length isn't an issue, update speed is fairly good. Grammar is decent and the overall style is very readable. Romance fails, but its got enough plot and humour to cover that fact.

This fic would have been full of win if Harry wasn't so chivalrous. In a real world he would have taken advantage of the sex clause in the contract. Other than that I think the fic is okay for a time killer. I will keep on reading just for the Weasley bashing :)

It would be better if there was some action/drama plot. Not just the dating and BS stories being told to Dumbles

To be fair, that's probably how canon Harry really would react.

This fic was a nice relaxing read until Hermione started fantasizing about Ron, then I was constantly on guard. It was like reading a well-written fic, with the caveat in the summary that the author would eventually make it slash.

I thought that this fic was a pleasant enough way to burn some time reading. While the romance is far from the best out there, c'mon falling for Harry because he's the perfect gentlemen is so ridiculously cliched that its headed towards the instant fail department. That and the bit with the Ron/Hermione fantasizing were the only problems I really had with this fic. It's a pleasant light read that gave me a few smiles and some outright laughs with the ridiculous stories that keep being fed to Dumbledore. 4/5

Eh, I didnt find it so hot. Yeah, its good for a read if you dont have anything to do. But nothing I'd follow on a regular basis.

Grammar and Spelling isn't all that bad, but it lacks a lot.

The fact that the author originally intended to leave the reason Harry and the Weasleys/Dumbledore fell out irritated me for one reason or another. The Romance wasn't Romance. Just not really an all together story.

Well, the fic is only 5 chapters in. There is still lots of room for some crazy as fuck DE to try and take Voldemort's spot.

Dumbledore's lack of a bullshit-o-meter could've made an interesting enough oneshot, but the romance is just a little too far on the fluff end of things. It could've been great - heck, it could probably still be salvaged into the realms of decent, even good - but, as it stands, it isn't. The romance bites; its heading steadily for the '3 fluffy dates=soulmates for life' pit. Fast, unbelievable, and fluffed up to the gills. I'll give it a 2/5 on the romance since it isn't structurally bad, and a 4/5 on the humor end. Call it a 3/5.

Why do so many authors have such unrealistic visions of how relationships work? Seriously. The dialogue and sometimes even the choice of diction really drives the point home. Nevermind the unbelievable-factor. If she's an Ice Queen, she's not going to be wanting to have sex with you within 72 hours, irregardless of how awesome a person you are. Take it from me ;).

And if she's up for sex within that time-frame, she's not an Ice Queen. She's a girl who likes to fuck a lot and she plays the field. In addition, shouldn't her Creep-factor meter be going off if she is an Ice Queen? She's dealt with "Draco" who wants to fuck her senseless, but she takes HP at his word that he's noble because he didn't use the marriage license to test her out? What? And now he wants her to stay at his home? And go to muggle clubs? What the fuck? And the portkey to the Muggle World should've ended with Daphne using the wizard equivalent of mace.

First off - if she was a real aristocrat, she'd know that type of marriage license would be absolute bullshit. And it's a part of the story that automatically makes those of us who care for the aristocratic society in fiction and in history, roll our eyes in anguish. A daughter, the dowry involved, the absolute requirement that she be virginal is so strictly reinforced, that some daughters in history have been killed on just a hunch of impurity.

Offering her up for a "test" drive is stupid. If Harry bangs her for 3 months, tosses her away, the family gets nothing. Ever. Never. She's used goods. If there's a clause that entraps him for sticking his dick in her, it's not a test drive. It's stupid, regardless.

And really, haven't we had enough of these retarded Ice Queen/Horny Harry stories? It's generally progressed from that bitch Pansy, to Blaise, to Daphne. OK - we get it. You're incapable of creating a character that truly is diverse and who might disagree with Harry and who may, overtime come to like him without compromising her characteristics or her principles. You're going for Pride & Prejudice, without the Pride or the Prejudice.

    That's utter failure.

Edit: Forgot an arbitrary rating that disregards that 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 are the only options:

This fic is worth keeping an eye on every now and then, but not something to wait around for. It has already been stated several times that the romance is too heavy, contrived, and just plain brainless so while those are my biggest beefs with the story, I shall not render the reasons again.
    <O:p
In all honesty, my reasons for giving it a 3 are small and simple. First, I liked the Neville in this fic, and his relationship with Harry. Neville is such a cool character in cannon, I'm glad to see him portrayed as he is in this fic. He's not some Pureblood expert to be used and ignored as needed which is so often the case, but rather an equal to Harry and a good friend too.
    <O:p
The second thing I enjoyed was Ron's portrayal. Its personal, but I'm fast becoming jaded with the Dumbledore/Ron bashing in fanfiction. Honestly, Ron is probably the most real character in the books. I'm beginning to think people bash Ron because they want to convince themselves they wouldn't act in the same way in the same situation. While the fic has Dumbledore bashing in it, it also has a Ron who is not upset with Harry, but instead chose family over friend. Moreover, the aspect that the two of them regretfully agree on the situation and do not hold each other at fault is a refreshing change from the outlandishly jealous character that stagnates fanfiction.
    <O:p
Also, while I may be a one of the black sheep who likes the character of Dumbledore and who thinks Dumbledore bashing is quickly becoming old, I can still enjoy it. The stories that Dumbledore buys make up for their utter ridiculousness with their utter ridiculousness, if that makes any sense to you.

You know, clicking the 'Enter' button twice, maybe even three times will probably suffice.

Adding a smilie face in between the paragraphs is a nice touch though.
