I didn't know my fic was known here. It's good to see a lot of honest reviews, although I'm sorry I can't oblige the guy who wants to go at me with the spiked knuckles.

I did want to say a few things. First off, this is my very first work in basically anything. I had never written a story before, so the few things I get really railed about, I understand and will probably write better the next time around I write a book.

First, about the timejumps, that was just a challenge. I wanted to see just how good I was. I think it's understandable if one takes the time, but I understand the confusion the first 6 chapters or so.

Second, concerning the potion line, I absolutely refused to make Harry mad at Ginny, because my intentions were to reverse the awful way that JKR brought Harry and Ginny together. After she was nonexistent in Books 3, 4 and most of 5, she just up and appears and it was painful to read. I wanted to completely reverse what she did and hopefully make it to where the reader feels it never really happened.

Third, the Harry/Hermione duel. *Sigh, unfortunately, the point of that duel was missed entirely. I understand why people hated it, but what I was trying to show wasn't any show of power, because frankly anyone who knows Harry Potter knows Harry could own Hermione with little effort when going full power (which I alluded to in Chapter 18-19) - I wanted to show how Harry and Hermione were connected in ways Harry/Ginny and Ron/Hermione weren't. I wanted it to be a soul battle... not a power battle. And if anyone felt dissappointed with that duel, read on. I guarantee you that the battle with Voldemort will NOT make you feel the same way. If it does, I'll take a hit to the face with the spikes. Thanks for the honesty though! It helps me better become the great novelist I aspire to be.

You are the author so I'm not going to give you much crap for what you just did, but was their a point to coming onto this thread and necro'ing it, much less with the word, 'bump......'? If their was, my apologies, but if their was nothing significant to say after eight months then please read the rules and stickies because that was...just a tad odd.

 

I suppose mcjazzman32 would like some of that constructive criticism this site is known for.

I personally can't help there; I liked a powerful post-HBP Harry going against Voldemort on his own. I stopped reading the story when he reverted to canon mentality and started sniveling after the Weasleys - which was a while back. Haven't read it since.

 

I suppose I could care less what mcfuckhead wants. Dont necro for pointless reasons.

Hmm I guess there are a lot of bitter people on this board, probably because they know their lives are going to be empty after the 7th book is here. I bumped it because there are 13 days or so left until my fic is officially relegated to the dreamworld. But I accomplished something! I let the bitter ones hate someone else instead of themselves for having no lives. I'll go elsewhere. Bye!
