Anyone still reading? I never started. It was on my maybe list for a while but I've lost interest.

 

I quit some time ago. Last thing I remember was something about an international dueling championship, I think. As it happens all too often to popular fictions, the author gets completely enamored of their MC and the plot devolves into a pointless, utterly predictable genital suckfest. At that point it's time to give thanks for all the fish and look for fresher waters.

 

There is just far too much going on in this fic, I quit when the focus drifted more and more towards whatever the hell kind of international conspiracy the Zabinis were involved in. I just wanted some over the top slytherin fun, the segment with Pettigrew in the Ministry was so delightfully edgy.

 

I'm a dozen or so more behind. I've lost count, to be honest. When the update rate plunged and the plot meandered during the summer before 4th year, I lost interest.

While this story has some very good moments (in addition to the Pettigrew Ministry scene, I particularly liked how the author handled Time Turners in year 3) and I expect the TWT will have an interesting spin based on the in media res opening chapter, I don't expect this to happen for a couple of years at least at the current update rate.

 

I'm waiting until year 4 is done. I definitely enjoy reading it in large chunks instead of as it updates.

 

I definitely still am. Unlike some of the others here, I really like that there's a lot going on. I enjoy, thick, dense plotlines like this story has, but it's not everyone's cup of tea.

 

If anyone cares, Prince of Slytherin was the most frequently mentioned HP fic on Reddit in 2022.

I'm not going to lie. I've been half ass reading new chapters, and it feels like the past... shit. 30 or 40 chapters are just a haze in my mind, and I couldn't name you any details, lol

Business appears to be picking up.

 

I really get annoyed with longfics that meander all over the place. If you want to randomly explore a universe it's better to write a bunch of semi-related separate stories, like Saberhagen's Berserker stories, the Known Space series, etc.
