    Readin' now.

EDIT: All I can say is that Neville's characterization made me laugh my ass off.

So if I understand this right, the second Hallow (the Stone) is a Black Lantern Power Ring? Or is it something unique that acts like one, but is unrelated? (Like how a jeep and a van are vehicles with four wheels, but that's all).

The ref' to Daphne Greengrass being a lapdancer (a nod to the blonde, busty, blue eyed babe trope?), was also quite funny - don't suppose we'll see her once or twice in the future, yeah? :)

Hermione not being hooked up with Ron was also a...pleasant sort of surprise, and her running a bookstore is something I could see her actually doing. Ron's fate made me smile a bit, but the fact that plumbers can -apparently- make a shit-ton of cash doing their jobs, makes me wonder if you've got a hidden thing planned with Ron, and his future.

Death's characterization is perfect - nailed her down.

Are we going to see any of the other 'counterparts' - maybe Katie Bell, or the Patils? Or Lavender - fun to be had, there. :)

I suppose that you could think of it as some sort of entity living in/placed into the ring, Tasoli - something neither living nor dead, like a ghoulish/serious 'Potterverse' poltergeist. (shrugs)

That is not the problem. My problem is AI of the ring. It annoys me to watch Harry say ring do this, ring shield, ring knowledge, ring, ring, ring, ring,...

In the and I am like "Shut the fuck Harry let The Ring do what needs to be done and why the fuck are you even here."

    I mean seriously!

I guess this is a pet peeve of mine.

Oh, quick update to those who are following "The Boy Who Lived and the Last Lantern" on HPFFA.com - the author has the latest two chapters typed up; he's just waiting for his Beta to get off his/her ass.

Good times are rolling for the HP/DC crosses, lately. :)

The Power ring is just that. The only thing that has been changed is the symbol on top. An Ankh, which we'll get into later. Daphne won't be showing up except for maybe a cameo. The others, yes, there will me more mentions of people and a face or two popping up, especially when Harry stops by Hogwarts.

Attention everyone! Tasoli comparing my idea to the Dresden's Winter Knight is why I used the title Death's knight. ;)

All the Power Rings have AI's. That was obvious by the second panel they appeared in during Blackest Night storyline when they started chatting away to themselves. They were limited, I suppose, by the zombies they created.

It was thought that the Red Rings didn't make constructs, but they do. It's just a matter of someone using them.

The rings are not that sentient. They're more computer than anything else, so about the only thing they'll do by themselves is throw up a personal shield, search for ring-wearers, and a few other minor tasks. Lantern members have to tell them what to do in one form or another.

Sorry about the peeve, but the ring levels the playing field between Karen and Harry, not to mention the other Lanterns out there. Its presence, the Book of the Dead, Death, etc. are interconnected and vital to the plot.

If it annoys you this much, this might not be the story for you, because there's only going to be more of it in the future.

Just read Death's Knight and I have to agree with the praise for Neville's characterisation. I liked the interaction between Harry and Death as well. I would say that this inspired me to work on my own crossover but it probably won't.

Heather, on one hand I'm so terribly disappointed Clash of the Titans won't be continued, but on the other hand, I like Death's Knight so much more. Giving Harry a Black Ring is nothing short of brilliant, and there's never been enough Death.

I'm making an attempt at this. i'm only about 500 words into the first chapter, but I thought you'd like to know that an attempt is being made. I'll post something on here when the first chapter is up. Maybe tomorrow but more likely the day after, depending on how much I can write.

Edit: I'm going to set up a group for my story. If anyone wants to see what I'm writing I'll post it there. I'd really appreciate any critiques and any help, hell if anyone wants in on writing I'd be up for a round robin type deal.

Second Edit: Realized there was a 2 in front of the 5. I don't have 2500, I have 500 (a little more now.)

I'm writing something along these lines, too. I'm writing up character sketches at the moment, and possible sub-plots. (Scrivener is such an awesome program!)

A round-robin could work, but only if there's more than two people involved - I'm down for it, so that's one.

Riley, sure thing - I'll join and help if I can. :)

I can totally see be Harry the kind to hunt down the killers of the restless dead.

Would the symbol of the Deathly Hollow join the black hand symbol or replace it?

SO the book of the dead contains the knowledge of all the beings ever connected to the Black Corps, that is if the book is like the book of Oa and parralax. That is a host of people and creatures with access to all sorts of secrets. If it contain the secrets of the BLC, would harry then attempt to undo all the wrongs listed in it. Anti-monitor help create the sinestro corps, so would Harry have to deal with the yellow lanterns. Nekros was a lord of the dead. It sounds like once touched, the book keeps on recording a subject. The blood of the five inversion helped to create the red corps, so they would be in the book.

Every loose end created by the crisis will be something for harry to fix.

Even in the original Sandman comics, there was never enough Death.

From what I understand, the Book of the Dead contains the day to day events of the Black Lanterns, which if in the wrong hands could prove very dangerous. It also has something else added that gives it a life of its own which also makes its existence dangerous. Beyond that, I don't know.

A lot of these questions are answered in the following chapter.

I've never been a DC guy, or very much into comics at all, save when I lived with my old man...

But that was good. Refreshing. New. And a few minutes skimming Wiki helped a lot.

    I reached this:

And hit the big red X. Definitely not worth reading, even if it is Harry/Supergirl.

...and a quick scan down the page shows it gets even worse.

The absolute worst part about this is that somewhere, sometime, somehow, some dumb-ass was sitting in his mom's basement writing this crap and telling himself, "This is pure fucking gold. They'll love this... every word. I. am. a. writing. god! R&R please!!!"
