I think it would be better if Voldemort got the details too late and the Ministry falls, then Voldemort and Dumbledore set aside their differences for the time being to set up Hogwarts as a fortress to protect the remaining magicals from the undead hordes - after all, Voldemort can't rule the world if the world is dead, can he?

Of course, when there no longer appears to be a solution to the problem both sides begin to make covert moves against eachother in a powerplay for Hogwarts yet at the same time knowing they need each others knowledge and skill to survive in the long term.

Deatheaters, civilians, civilians with a grudge against Voldemort, and OotP members in close confines causes tensions and sometimes spills over too making the plot more than just surviving the undead.

It would be even better if you changed it to HP/Crossed. Crossed is one of the better zombie apocalypse stories I've read, even if it's rather disturbing. Crossed zombies are good because they're still human (kind've), instead they're all sociopaths whose new life goal is simply pleasure through any means.

Well, he's right that Crossed is pretty much trash. Ennis can be a good writer though, though I generally don't like him that much. You wouldn't think it but he writes Superman really well.

Eh, Crossed is sometimes a bit hit and miss. The stories set in American for example are nearly always awful; they usually are just survivalists wet dreams.

 

If we go the Courage route, why not a Powerpuff Girls crossover? That would actually fit in nicely. You have a plethora of villains to choose from and a lot of storylines. Could be fun.

Actually, a Half-Life crossover with HP doesn't sound that bad.

What if the Black Mesa incident happened in the Potterverse? How would wizards respond to the Seven Hour War and the Combine draining Earth of resources?

 

Well, they'd go one of two routes. Regress even further behind wards and secrecy, moving whole communities together to make magical only areas and abandoning the rest of the world to its fate.

OR

They'd break the secrecy pacts (either by choice or have it forced on them if the Combine aren't fooled by ward-lines), and try to fight back, minus a few quislings (this is where we throw a Malfoy or two into the story).

I'd read either version of that, if someone did it well.

 

I think it would be the latter; who's to say that muggle repelling wards/charms work on aliens?

If you shift the HP timeline forward you could have the second war during the Combine/Zen invasion and turn Voldemort somewhat grudgingly into a hero who fights the alien hordes.
