Just curious? Why do people in general hate OC's?
I understand that if they aren't developed well, they can be ... annoying.
In my opinion, OC's that are developed well aren't that bad.

Simply because you cannot relate as well with an OC than to a Canon character. Characters like Dumbledore have been developed throughout the HP books, and become characters you would want to read about.

An OC should either be necessary to the story and well developed, not generic people without faults. Otherwise, unless an OC is really, really good or it's a crossover and the OC is a character from another fandom, I really don't care what happens to those people.

However, in the first book, everybody was an OC in a way.

All the characters WERE original and new.

Harry was the poor abused orphan...*Waits for tears to stop* and we all went, "Awwwwwww" or some such crap.

KIP gives us a more realistic Harry I feel. A Harry that craves to fix his mother and at the end, possibly wipe out Bellatrix.

Shame you can't have a cameo appearance of Fleur in Moony Nights when her Mother stops by to congratulate Harry.

And it is refreshing to see someone thinking Chaser's are more important than Seeker's.

The snitch generally doesn't appear for 10 minutes. If you get a goal a minute, you get 100 points at best. Throw in the beats, you can rack up 150 pts and above before the snitch is caught.

I am curious...will Neville be in the Tri-Wizard Tournament instead of canon Harry?

    Regards
    Aerin

The writing is far from the best, but I enjoyed the story quite a lot nonetheless. I've never scene this plot device used before in HP fanfiction, having Harry older than the rest of the canon trio I mean. The characterisation is refreshing, and I like how the author is handling Quidditch. The small teasers in the author notes sound cool, and the retelling of canon is well handled.

    How true.

If he got 1-2 Beta's...this story would rock all Oblivion!

    *Evil grin*

    *Ponders*

Now to check if there are any HP/ Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion x-over's...

    *Cackles*

The bit about "jam sessions" in the first author's note was distinctly ominous. I almost quit there; but proceeded onward and found that this isn't a bad story. It certainly isn't the best, there's a distinct lack of tension for one, but it's not bad. The characters are maturing, albeit slowly, and the author plainly has his style down.

Compared to the rest of the stories in the Library, it's average.

I am really enjoying this story it makes a nice change from the usual fare.
I like his characters and how he has developed them and I believe this is one the best new story's published in the last couple of month's.

I tried to read it, and it started out okay, but it began to suck on the Hogwarts express, and after "Oh! Potions Master Severus Snape!" I couldn't read any more.

It would have been good, had the author cut out the OCs. I don't have anything against OCs - I quite like them in fact - but they have to be done well (see: Denarian Renegade). These OCs are not. They're unrealistic and over-the-top, the author attempts to use them for humour but they lack any amusement value whatsoever, and they are just annoying in general.

This fic is kind of a guilty pleasure for me. It passes the time, but it's not amazing. 3/5

This fic is mediocre at best. And by mediocre I mean I'd rather pull out my pubes than read it. Despite the "original" idea, this seems old and played out. The interactions, the thoughts, the story itself... it screams out GAY! 2/5 because it's Harry/Fleur.

@ Taure: There is some Snape bashing by Archie in the recent update.

I found the OC's to be quite well thought out, honestly.

Granted, at the start they seem flat and 2D with no proper use, but as the chapters go on, we get to see them more fleshed out.

And it's not so much Snape Bashing as it is, "Bashing Snape in the Face with a Verbal Sledgehammer"

But I guess it just takes a specific type of person to enjoy the fic.

Generally those who lost most of their sanity.

It wasn't the fact that he liked Snape that I found bad. It was just his utterly ridiculous way of expressing it, and the over the top obsession with him. It feels like a children's cartoon.

I dislike bashing just as much as I dislike worship.

I said this in the old Thread and I'll say it again. This started out as an original idea but the first few chpters were mediocre. It's improving and I really like the way the author is writing Harry's character and his interaction with canon's primary characters.
    I give it 4/5.

    Good Quality

This is a good quality fic but could use a little work and the development of Archades and Stephanie.

This fic is made of fail, I can't see what is so interesting about it.

In the very first chapter Harry is a guitar emo who tries to connect with his mother by playing her favorite song Hotel California. He also plays Remus' favorite Bon Jovi song. Supergaytotallyretardedficsong.

These things alone warrant the bin.

He has friends named Stephanie and Archades. It may sound petty but those names detract from the story for me because they just don't sound like names for wizards and witches. They sound too muggle, even the muggleborn name students atleast fit with the books.

I understand how Stephanie sounds Muggle, but how does Archades sound Muggle at all. Sounds like an old Greek name that no Muggle would name their children? But then again, I'm not from Britian.

You should fucking be ashamed of yourself for giving this story a 5/5. I honestly couldn't make it through the first couple of sentences.

    That's one sentence.

And going by what other people have said it's full of OCs, and Harry is a Guitar Hero. I normally enjoy fics that have Harry/Fleur relationships, and a more developed Remus, but it's certainly not worth the effort of reading such garbage to find it. I won't rate it, because I haven't read it, but I will say that with the first page there is no possible way it deserves a spot in the library.

I hope, for the author's sake, it gets better as the story goes along.
