Hello I'm basically a noob at the moment, just yesterday I finished reading the repost of Knowledge is Power and I got really upset. So I has a hunt for the author, and found out after reading a post that he was Mr.Joe. Well Mr. Joe, since your story is reposted, you can continue it. I'm really well aware that his is a stupid post. Anyway, my Intoduction.

I just read the first chapter of that fic. It seems like a rip off of Unsung Hero. I thought it would borrow some ideas, not have the same set up with age and gender of first friend being the only differences. Aside from that, the crappy spelling and bad use of grammar forces me to believe that it was written by a ten year old.

EDIT: The bastard needs to use curse words instead of "(bleep)."

 

The difference between this and Unsung Hero is that this story doesn't suck complete ass, it only sucks minor ass, while Unsung Hero does in fact, suck complete ass.

 

This story only sucks minor ass?? The story's full of nothing but cliches. The writing style's poor, the grammar sucks, it quoted so much of Philosopher's Stone it's sickening, and to top off the heaping pile of crap, there wasn't any original factor from the story. I can't see this getting past a 1/5.

The only thing different about it from Canon is Harry's in Ravenclaw, Hermione has become Luna, and Ron has become Matt.

Probably criticizing too harshly, but my vindictive bitch side can't stand the author's common usage of LOL, OMG, and WOOT in the author notes. The author's an 18 year-old male? Give me a break...

 

This leaves me in a quandary over what moron would consider that story better than unsung hero considering unsung hero was written first. Unless he was being sarcastic in which case I will politely shoot myself.

I added a link to the repost in the first post of this thread. The original author, MrJoe/SerpentSannin/Fettucini/Oblong got an A on his report card and decided to rid his cultured lifestyle of plebeian hobbies like fanfiction, thus deleting all the fics on his account and changing his username.

So chalk this fic up as another unfinished epic officially going nowhere. It's a shame, but it makes you appreciate finished fics more.

I've not said anything about the fucktard posting an intro in this thread, or the faux-mods bitching at him because as far as I can tell, this thread will have no more bitching about cliches, or bemoaning of the guitar/katana/author's assertive opinion of sluts/clothes/dance clubs. Tis a shame.

As for The Sin of Existance's series, I'll add that it's something of a guilty pleasure to watch just how closely it borrows from twin-fics and KiP: Harry's only friend is an original character Potions genius (Archie > Matt), Harry's in Ravenclaw and an uber-wizard but not the Boy-Who-Lived, TriWizard hijinx, Quidditch awesomeness, etc...

But the S of E has got me really fucking hating Luna. Something that shouldn't be possible (and I think I've ranted about before). And the Ice/Cold trilogy thing is becoming more and more painful and less 'humorous train wreck' to watch.

I'll bitch about KiP (and praise it at the same time), but it's miles ahead of the Ice/Cold crap. On the other hand, one of them is a bunch of unfinished ideas not seen to a conclusion. And the other one is inferior in every way, except the one that counts (still ongoing and updated regularly).

God, I can't write a short post these days.

Course from what I've heard (I only picked this story up late in the game--I hate Bon Jovi and couldn't get past the first chapter), KiP started that way too--fast updates, then seemed to peter out.

 

Against my better judgment, and because I have nothing better to do, I've continued reading the story. Another point to add to the rapidly growing list of turds this story puts forth, the characters act how a ten year old thinks an adult would act. Also, wtf at eleven year old Ginny wearing black, lace underwear and the Gryffindor boys oggling her.
