Okay, so I was solving the crossword Anarchy so kindly gave us. It's got a glaring error though. On #54, they spelled the name of Harry's best friend wrong. ;)

No, You're wrong. It's not Hermioneey it's Ron Weasley. And it's not "Bears" it's "Beans".

    Also, not "Doohs" but "Doors".

37 Down is really not 'Doohs'- it's DOORS, which means Harry's friend would be RonWeasley

    Doh!

EDIT: Doh! for me being ninja'd, too

    I'm not sure if you're serious, because I know I wasn't. :p

I had hoped the winky face would have got the point across.

First 4 books of Harry Potter recreated using only screencaps from Disney movies. Guess which cap comes from which Disney film.

I read that recommendation in the manga recc thread and came across this interesting scene within.

    http://mngacow.com/Glory-Hill/07/9/

It's character beating someone to death with a Harry Potter book. Somebody actually drew this!

You can also see the book covered in blood at the end of the beating.

Well, they certainly picked the right book to beat someone to death with.

Eh, I've always preferred to think of the 'half' as a simple term for splitting, while the soul itself is not actually divisible into specific parts. Your 'soul' is just an essence, and as long as there is an undamaged container containing some of your essence you cannot die, even if your current body is destroyed. Thinking of the soul in terms of such numerical specifics just feels wrong to me for some reason.

I always thought of it in a more cartoony type way. He wasn't really splitting his soul into separate pieces, more like driving a nail through it into reality to anchor it like one would do to hang a painting on the wall.

I always took it as a plot device and never thought to much of it, then I meet Taure.

The concept of the soul is too nebulous for me to have thought of it in such quantifiable terms. I pictured it kind of like buttering toast. The more bread you try to cover (more Horcruxes you make), the thinner your coating of butter will be.

Assuming, of course, that you have infinite butter and infinite toast.
