Isn't that precisely why the power of the stone is hollow? It doesn't enable you to change anything, just tempts you into wasting your life dwelling on those who are gone. Maybe Snape is strong enough to resist that temptation (or maybe ghost Lily would just tell him to fuck off) but I can imagine a man as bitter and petty as Snape being unable to escape his obsession with the past.

Or you could ease up on being so anal about it and try to enjoy a nice lore parallel with the rest of us.

    Just found this elsewhere, but...

Ayn Rand meets Harry Potter. All seven books, at that.

    My favourite:
    NINETEEN YEARS LATER

“I’m taking the children down the Platform 9 3/4s to see them off to school,” Ginny said to Harry. “Want to come?”

“I build trains,” Harry said, adjusting his hat so that the brim sat low over one eye, “I don’t watch children board them.”

    Ginny respected him for it.

^ I have rarely been so repulsed while reading something with the name of Harry Potter in it(and that includes The Office).

$1/10 because no 90 (or even 9) page rambling speech about how he is Harry Potter.

That moment when you remember that some people actually take Ayn Rand seriously, and you feel sad.

That was an amazing read, though it got repetitive after the 4th book.

I interned at a libertarian non-profit a few years ago, and one of the other interns literally said "Atlas Shrugged is my Bible." I decided to stop taking her seriously after that. I mean, I'm a classical liberal, but even when I read that book in high school I was thinking about how insane the author must be.

Ayn Rand's Harry Potter is hilarious. It's spot on.
