Given all this fuss about no-maj vs Muggle, I wonder if we'll get a shoutout in the film where Newt gets all confused when he hears no-maj for the first time...

 

I just want to point out how weird it's going to be to see this movie in theaters after so long without real new Harry Potter material -- pottermore doesn't really count in my opinion, too "thin". Went to a Harry Potter theme park last year, even that seemed strangely like a blast from the past, seeing images of the actors and sets from 5 years ago.

Plus, (and, I think someone already mentioned this) there's going to be all this fannon that will suddenly being wrong instead of inventive. The feeling in some stories might eventually be like when you read pre-OOTP fics and everything's just weird.

 

I'm curious to see how much information the movie will draw from actual canon, JK, and fanon based thoughts...

 

Hah! That's similar to how America and Britain shown in the James Bond universe.

 

Have any trailers or teasers been revealed yet?

 

For a movie that doesn't even come out until November of next year and is still shooting? We don't even have a trailer for Games of Thrones Season 6 yet and that comes out in April.

 

Wow this guy looks awesome. Superb casting. Hopefully Newt will be a kickass wizard.

Was just thinking the same thing when I noticed he was a lefty.

 

I really hoped for a movie about the first war. That would have been awesome. the whole build up and the acutal war, before the killing of james and lily

 

I have a feeling that we will never get an in depth look into any of the magical wars.

 

The first trailer will be released December 15, 2015.

 

Is this going to be a standalone story, or will this be a gateway into more movies set in the potterverse?

 

I think that it's going to be up to the whim of Rowling as to the future of the potterverse.

 

Well Star Wars seems to be emulating the Marvel CMU so I wouldn't be surprised to find the same expanded world approach taken in HP but only if Rowling allows it.

I doubt she'll sell to Disney for instance.

Eh. The delivery of the woman seemed really off, to me. They were all so abruptly cut off. Especially that shout of Scamander's name.
Otherwise, not much to go on yet.
