I'm just wondering what they make from it, in regards to a trilogy.

I'm not going to express anything until I see who the director is, I have faith Rowling can make a somewhat decent script, but a lot will come down to how she goes with it.

And I thought making The Hobbit a trilogy was a ridiculous idea.

Seriously, what on Earth are they going to show? I can see them just barely making a single movie about this guy, but what the hell could they stretch that much?

I said it before, and I'll say it again: they should make a movie about Grindelwald's War. I know I would certainly pay to see that made into a Trilogy.

I've been dying for more info on Grindelwald for ages, I completely agree, and young badass guilty dumbledore, I reckon that could be pretty epic.

Unlike in the Hobbit, which already had a fixed story, that was way overstretched, we only have a vague plot (Newt explores and studies magical creatures) who could be filled with information about both the Wizard World and it's magical beasts, both things we saw and know very little.

I hope they get someone who shows that HP magic is more than just beams of light that throw a guy backwards with no effect.

Please say this is an April Fools joke.

One of these days, I really must write a Petition to convince Rowling to write about Grindelwald and/or Dumbledore. Now that would make a good series.

From what she has said I doubt she will ever write another Novel in the Potterverse. She will just flesh out all the details she wants to in Pottermore.

WTF. Write books or make movies about badass wizards like Gridenlwald and Dumbledore, not about Naturalists and 8th graders.

She's going to write easy, less stressful shit and die with so much money that the next 5 generations of her family will never have to work.

    Smart woman.

In my opinion it's probably better that she hasn't written anything about Grindelwald or Dumbledore. I've read too many stories with amazing portrayals of both, that I feel as if canon can only really let us down.

To be fair, Rowling did a better Dumbledore than pretty much any Fanfic author I have read. She really nailed his character. The only Dumbledore I feel really matches Canon Dumbledore is Shezzas one from the Denarian trilogy.

Since I never read Shezza's fic, I can't vouch for him, but I never saw in any foc a Dumbledore that was almost as good as JK. Or a Snape as good as in the movies, because Snape in the books was a petty selfish bastard, instead of the I-Hate-You-All Alan Rickman that I like.

Of course Rowling writes a better Dumbledore compared to fanfiction authors, she invented the character in the first place.

Actually, I wouldn't be interested in Grindelwald's story that strongly.

The Life and Times of Tom Marvolo Riddle is a book I would read.

I'm still fairly convinced that we'll get a bit of Grindelwald due to the era in which the movie is set. I'm picturing this as a kind of swashbuckling wizarding Indiana Jones style adventure filled with magical beasts and magical Nazis.
