Unpopular opinion: I'd want a potential new series to be set in another country/school. Not America though. Beauxbatons or Durmstrang would be nice, but a story set in places like Asia would be even more awesome.

James was 21 when he died, do you really think he had time to "Defy" Lord Voldemort three times (once per year) when he graduated? It seems more likely to me that some of that defying went on while he was still in school, especially considering it seems to be the main recruiting ground for the Death Eaters as well as the OOTP.

God James aged like a freaking grape. Look at the picture of James from the movies and then realize he is supposed to be 21 years old.

My interpretation was always that Lily and James' defiance was refusing recruitment three times.

I wouldn't be so sure, Taure. Why would Voldemort want to recruit them, especially Lily?

Doesn't really match what we're told in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

My interpretation is they were members of the Order and survived encounters with Voldemort three times while doing Order stuff.

So Warner Brothers have confirmed that Fantastic Beasts will be at least a trilogy, released in 2016, 2018 and 2020.

Here's hoping the movies will be better than the first seven movies (wasn't a big fan in general). They'll be made for the big screen though instead of converted over from books, so I have moderately high hopes (which will possibly be dashed).

Dear lord, why is it being made a Trilogy? I am honestly getting sick and tired of them.

Assuming the focus is going to be on Newt (and not on the War), I think the best way to go is have a lighthearted, nerdy Indiana Jones. Seeing more of the Magical world via his travels and discovering new creatures could make this a good trilogy (or at least one good movie).

Magicland Indiana Jones trilogy? Yes please.

Assuming the cast can pull off half of Harrison Ford's awesomeness.

I'm most curious about how they will choose to portray the wider magical world (especially given it is set in New York).

Poorly, in all likelihood. But we shall see.

I can't help but roll my eyes at all the "oh no a trilogy" nonsense that goes around every time a film company announces a trilogy.

It's a trilogy because it will make more money.
It will make more money because people will pay to see all the films.
People will pay to see all the films because they want more Harry Potter.

So the film company is giving people what they want. Oh the humanity!

Considering one of Newt's middle names is 'Fido' of all things, he's already got the Indiana-Jones-named-after-a-dog thing going for him.

For some reason, probably not involving the prequel-ish nature, trilogy-status and mystical animals galore, Martin Freeman as Bilbo is the first one to pop to mind in this. I guess he'll just have to be all everyman heroes from now until the end of time. ;P

While I agree that it's unnecessary to turn Fantastic Beasts into a Trilogy, I like the idea of magical Indiana Jones. After all, we don't know much about Wizardling World, only about Wizardling Britain.

Oh come on. Everyone moaned when news hit that Hobbit would be a trilogy, but we'll still watch BotFA. And we'll watch this trilogy too.

Eddie Redmayne cast as Newt Scamander in "Fantastic Beasts" -- WB Twitter.

My hopes for this movie just sky-rocketed.

On one hand won the Oscar for best actor. On the other hand was in Les Misarables and Jupiter Ascending.

So 50/50 shot at the movie being crap
