Ok, the new chapter is half/half regarding plot decisions - He hadn't even met Ron yet and he's sorted into Ravenclaw, but Hermione is already like a sister to him and all Slytherins are evil. There are also mentions of soulmate!Ginny in his A/N's, but he could be only joking (he's also considering Cho and Padma).

All in all, I'll continue following this story, but there are still potential Weasly slip-ups lurking behind every corner. We're not out of the woods yet!

 

I agree- the story is interesting in the ideas it covers, seeing as it's not been done a lot before. But the direction it's going, the author mentioned that it might be more of a 'super' (underlinged, italicized, and bold-ed) Harry than what most people may like, however...

But currently, no problemos yet, so I'm still following. Like ip said though, we're not outta the woods yet.

 

Lemee know if it gets more readable in the future. Atm it's really rushed and poorly explained just how Harry's taking the RPG books and crafting his own spells, and the fact that the author is choosing Harry to go to school, rather then forge his own path, often dooms a fic to stale repetitiveness

 

The decision to go to the magic school was one that had to be made in this fic. Harry has yet to discover that what he can do with magic is not universal, and that most witches and wizards are restricted heavilly in their magic use.

 

I agree, Harry has to AT LEAST go to school for a year or two to see what convencial wizards and witches due to spell cast. It would be cool if he just bought books for years 3-7 during his third year, then dropped out and traveled the world for a few years and stuff.

For those interested, there's been an update to the fic since the last post in this thread.

Also, while it is true that I, the author, enjoy reading H/G fics, the ship is almost completely open. Hell, I also like harem fics, but that doesn't mean this is going to be one. I will go where I feel the story leads. It could be Hermione, it could end up Cho, could be Fleur. The only things I will definitely 'not' ship are; slash, and OC.

Honestly, I'm even considering not having a ship in the fic.

 

Nice chapter. I did enjoy reading it and your ideas of magic.

Personally I wouldn't mind any ship as long as your don't do a soulmate, monster-in-chest, love-rulz kindda shit. I also wouldn't mind a no-ship fic.

Besides that i actually kinda like this fic. Didn't think i would, but for some reason i do.

 

I really, really wanted to like this one.

But after that last chapter it just got itself deleted from my favorites list. Agh.

It's just too ... boring. I couldn't stand to read another word.

 

re read most of the fic. I still like it, but it needs something, I guess maybe a bit more drama..... or something. Time will tell.
