    ...Wow. What's this thread doing here? Used to love this story back in the day. I'd probably close it in disgust these days if I tried reading it now.

    I decided to re-read this one. The first 5-8 chapters are great. The humor really got me. Then, somehow 'mocking the cliches' turned to 'becoming the cliches'. Whether it was intentional or not I don't know. It's no longer humorous but not quite angsty either.
