I'm not usually one to push people for an update, since I'm not the fastest myself, but whats happening with this? Just wondering. It's one of my favorite stories and all, I really want to read more! MORE! :p

I've nearly finished chapter seven. I've been up all night writing the bloody thing actually. I've had a really hard time getting the words to flow recently, and I don't suppose it helps that I'm trying to quit smoking as well. I'll probably have it finished and sent to be beta read tomorrow, so it shouldn't be too long before it's up on ff.nuts. This new beta of mine is pretty fast at getting chapters back to me. It's just a matter of making it look not quite so disjointed now.

Admittedly this ones not going to be the biggest of chapters, in fact there's a good chance it'll be the shortest so far. It does drive the plot forward a little bit more though, which brings us closer to the more action focused chapters.

Syaoran, I'm blaming you for making me trawl through this stupid chapter all night. You will, of course, be happy to hear that the stupid thing is now with my beta reader. Personally I'm glad to see the back of it.

I've been trying to write this chapter for weeks but have never been able to do more than a few hundred words at a time. I think it's some of my best writing yet, it's just so darn frustrating when you have to stop after 200 words.

So you got your wish, it shouldn't be too long now.

I had a problem with my email so my beta didn't get the chapter till today. Honestly it shouldn't be too long now.

Dark Lord Shabranigdo shall indeed read this, when He finds time. He must be familar with the pathetic mortals of this world if he wishes to enslave them.

Ah! Dark Lord Shabranigdo is pleased! These mortals fools have recognized the foolishness in calling Him a Muggle. He is still insulted, make no mistake, but will wait and see what happens.

    It is a good fic.

Does "Rise of the Warrior" sound that bad to you? I thought it seemed a bit generic, but if it's what best fits the plot, it didn't bother me. And truthfully a title like that makes me think it's going to be the sort of fic I'm looking forward to. Rise of the Warrior to me says, training, battle is the focus, Independent!Harry, not a warrior yet, but we're headed that way. No uninspired "Power of" crap. No hints of love, or some either fabricated or terribly archaic reference. (Yes I know JKR says Death Eaters used to be called Knights of Walpurgis, a reference to Walpurgis night, blah blah blah. It's still a crappy word. Walpurgis. Makes me think of aftertaste juice in your mouth from a bad belch.)

And egads. Dark Lord Shabranigdo went from speaking normally in first person to third person in just 4 days, if you trust this thread. (Off topic side note: Anyone know what 'Shabranigdo' refers to? I just did a quick search and found it as part of a cartoon called 'Slayers'. Does it have any basis in mythology or history or any semblance of a root word?)

I've just sent an email along to my beta to see when he expects to be finished with this chapter. Good news is I expect it back with me some time tomorrow. From there it's a matter of making the changes marked and then it will be uploaded. Update should be some time tomorrow or the day after.

On the matter of the title, I seriously don't see how a title can throw somebody off that much. Granted it's not the most original name ever conceived, but as Nonjon has already pointed out it is the title that fits the plot of this story the most. I'm quite aware that I can't please every person that reads my story, I would, however, like to be judge off the quality of my writing and plot rather than the title. I'm sure you remember the old saying "never judge a book by its cover"...

    NO!!!

Cervus, its a well known fact that the best books all have the BEST titles. Look at Macbeth! What does that title mean? NOTHING! And that's what that book is, a Big, FAT nothing.

P.S. I've heard its a play, not that it really matters as its CLEARLY not worth investigating with a title like Macbeth.

whoops i didn't mean to send that to you in the private message. i'm pretty much a newbi. anyway the reasons are the name just reminds me of muggle warriors like the movie called Braveheart. not a magic grand sorcer to can send fear to the enemies with just his killed intent.

your right never judge a book by it's cover. However i like to point out that famous authors like to use an original name that centers around the character it self or something like that.

YOur Beta must REALLY suck. Even with the e-mail problem, the guy got it on the 19th. IT should have been done by now.

The fact that he didn't notice (or think to check here) shows he's also ignorant. THe guy should have been to able to say, "Oh, he's writing that he finished a chapter, yet I didn't get one. Hmm, that's odd."

    Bah!

I'm just getting pissed off and restless. That doesn't make my points less valid though.

The Beta got it on the 22, Chuck. And anyways, Cervus already said that the Beta should be finished by today. Give it some more time.
