I have been asked this question by a friend of mine, she asked me to put it out to the people of DLP. Do you know of any parallels between the HP books and the Nazis in World War 2?

In a direct answer to your question however, I would say yes. Parallels could be drawn between the Holocaust and the Snatchers of book 7 for example.

 

It really isn't hard if you give it more than five seconds of thought. Racial supremecy and Genocide came to mind within that five second period

Any school - primary, high school or university - using the Harry Potter series in any way, shape or form to teach, should lose funding or accreditation.

World War II, the Great War and the Cold War are used as blueprints for hundreds of stories. Star Wars. The movies. Knights of the Old Republic. Some argue the Lord of the Rings for WWII, but it's more likely that it's WWI.

There are parallels in Rowling's, except they're lacking, poorly disguised, poorly executed and generally more an annoyance than a "Heh, she's so paralleling with [event]". Voldemort's hypocrisy doesn't anger me because nothing he does is successful. For me to be angry at someone who is hypocritical, he has to tend to get away with everything he does. Only then, for his failure to meet the expectations he sets for everyone else, could I be irate. Otherwise, I'm hoping he offs one of the faggots that run around spreading syphilis with the love-crap.

But the Character Shields are supercharged in this series; any character of merit has them. Even the ones who do manage to die, did so on their own terms. And so Voldemort's grand plans and "fear-inspiring" tactics are just lies on the author's part. His second reign was weak.

The Wizarding World isn't worth saving. The main character, the secondary characters and even some of the tertiary characters are complete, fucking idiots and deserve to be forgotten in the annals of time.
