I must admit, i'm a bit of a fan of the whole bad girl/good boy. It has a great potential but sadly It's a little disappointing since there are few fics worth reading. It's extremely hard to find the decent ones among the overwhelming slash and or harry/ginny etc etc.

I'm a great fan of Harry/femblaise or H/Daphne, H/Tracy or anything else involving Harry with a sly slytherin.

So if anyone has any good potentials worth reading, i would be very appertiated.

Have you checked out any of the works by Master Slytherin? That is pretty much all he writes about. Slytherin style HP, both in his time travel and normal.

I loved two of his fics, The Other Side of Hell and Stained Future. It has been a long time since i read that. But I had no idea he had two other fics.

    Thanks a bunch!

Try Draco664's story for Harry/femblaise and you can try this one Ruthless Revenge for Harry/Daphne.

Ruthless Revenge is quite funny, especially what happens to Ginny.

    Let's see...

Equal and Opposite by Amerision, though you won't find Jamie's name on any canon class list.

What Would Slytherin Harry Do? by Big_D

It's only two chapters, but I still love it: The Minister, by Android Knight 47 (aka BioPlague aka Merrill).

    Also look up Yarrgh!'s stories.

If you don't mind a bit of fluff check out:

When Worlds Collide by Armless Penguin; a decent H/femBlaise one-shot.

Harry Potter and the Marriage Contracts by Clell65619; H/Daph fic

Jeconais also has some good stuff on his website.

Edit: Hmm, knew there was a thread dedicated to these kind of fics.

It has not been updated for a while so if any new stories have shown up from that time post them here. I'm quite the fan of Harry/SlitherinChick

:p I think you wanted this smiley: :stained

@OP: For Harry/Daphne, if you don't mind a Dark!Harry, there is Traitorus, by Flamata. Also, for a shorter and more fluffy story; kb0 has a one (although I personally think that the Epilogue is too much ... the rest is acceptable, however) that has the added advantage of being finished: Link

Edit: There's also Denying Fate, but that is clichéd if I remember correctly, and on hiatus, or so the author says.

And Measure for Measure, of course, but that it less your typical Harry/Slytherin and more ... weird. But funny.

What went on with that fic? Didn't it originally have only four chapters? And then it randomly expanded into four epilogue or outtakes chapters? Couldn't get through them all.

First four chapters are acceptable, but I found myself unable to read the rest.

Eh, the last four chapters mainly expanded the summer and the next year until the official wedding. I think I mainly enjoyed it just for the Harry/Daphne.

kb0's latest epilogue really pissed me off. With his latest story Kidnapped - it had a somewhat decent premise - and then the epilogue came out of nowhere and felt like a completely different story. There was only a vague mention of his sisters, nothing really heard of from Hannah/Susan, and the interpretation of the prophesy - while original - just felt wrong. I think the worst part was who he was engaged to - the entire setup just felt flat.

Now there's an epilogue that could use 4-6 chapters to expand to reaching that point.

I stopped reading The Grass Is Always Greener after 3 or 4 chapters. It was annoying because the emotions between the two felt for each other felt forced and alien. It doesn`t feel natural at all. It annoyed the hell out of me.

I told the author this and the answer i got was that the reviewers were rushing her. And that annoyed me even more since it feels like an excuse.

Yeah, the first four are the actual story and the ones I meant. The rest is Epilogue. I dunno what he thought. I didn't finish the Epilogue either. It dragged horribly. Basically, many many words for very little substance.

He should've condensed it into one chapter or something.

Also, I just remembered. Jon wil probably kick me in the arse for linking it, but no one I know of has the good boy/bad girl thing done just like he did: Profile. The stories in question are "Harry Potter and the Bad Luck", and the rewrite "Veneficius".

It's more or less ancient, but his Daphne would still eat all the other Fake!IceQueen-carbon-copy-wannabe-Daphnes in whatever new story you can find for breakfast. Well, except perhaps mine :p Tease, just because I can (and no, there is nothing more, and I'm not currently writing on it either -- too many stories).

I just want a completely alt!Daphne that's quiet, not brazen, and clever rather than utterly boisterous.

Too many fics portray her as a Gryffindor who just delves in dark magic and tricks people.

Either that or a completely demure one.

aww you suck! xD i hate it when authors quit when they have a good story running.

And I`m sure Jon won`t mind reading some of his fics. I`ve been looking at some harry/slytherin that's dated all the way back to 04' cause there the decent ones lol And there aren't that many harry/slytherin fics worth reading. And one of the few that are really well written is something i can't seem to remember so i can't find it unfortunatly.

So a quite and clever eh? I' prefer those sly slytherins that Harry falls in love with are really snobby, stuck up, cleaver and high maintenance. It clashes against Harry's personality who is completely opposite. Makes a better drama and somewhere along the way, a spark erupts. And the emotions they feel for one another is so alien, it only causes more problems and even more slytherin/griff banter. I find it far more entertaining.

and btw, Aswome fucking sig Amerision!

    This.

In the majority of fics I see her in, you can substitute her name with "Katie Bell" and BOOM you've got a chaser story. Sure a lot of fics like to focus on the depth of characters now, it's like everyone went to film school or something, but only doing it for the main focus characters seems rather trite. The house divisions always felt like a way to marginalize actual need for character development, but the problem is, it worked retroactive.

That whole "most of Slytherin" ended up supporting Volds while none of the other houses really contributed junk bugged me. Ahem. Back on topic...

I looked over the thread (skimmed) and think a lot of the more common Daphs are covered, there's a solid Pansy one I like (Beautiful Poison) but it's fluff. I don't delve this way often, mostly for the above and previously said reasons.

Perfect Situations, probably my favourite H/Daphne fic, but keep in mind that finished story lines tend to stick out more than those who never really got of the ground.

IMO, the problem is not the cliché, it's the people.

I like my Daphne brazen -- and snobbish, stuck-up and opportunistic to the point of being a back-stabbing bitch: in essence, someone to make old Salazar proud.

Is that the clichéd characterisation of her?

In all honesty, I don't know if I've ever seen a Daphne that actually fits that bill. There are many version of her that are supposed to be like that (cue Slytherin Ice-Queen), I think, and then end up being it in name only. I've read stories where the author starts with listing her character traits, and then proceeds to fail mercilessly in delivering -- and what we get instead is, as you said, a Gryffindor who uses Dark Magic.

So I'd argue that her clichéd persona might not even be a cliché -- I mean, is it one when everyone wants to write her that way, but then screws it up, so in all actuality, no one ever does?

Also, Amer ... a demure Daphne, come on >_> What kind of story would that be, when Demure!Daphne meets Mediocre!Canon!Harry? That sounds like a recipe for a sleeping draught ;)

But perhaps it's more my general dislike of that kind of female main characters. Demure or reserved or actually weak female protagonists are somewhat lost on me. I like them independent, forceful and strong, and their male counterpart strong enough himself to keep up with them and push back when he gets pushed.

Fleur in TFA is that way, as is Jen in Sister and of course Daphne here. They all share quite a few traits, something I noticed recently; I've gotta pay attention that I don't start to write the same character over and over again and end up like Jeconais did (only with a different female character-archetype).

    Oh Jen?

Who dat? I really wouldn't know, since there's an appaling shortage of, you know, a story to describe her.

Get writing you bitch. I need mah Fem!Harry.
