Looking for the stories where Harry Potter is a Royal Wizard to Her Majesty, the Queen of England.

 

Harry has a role similar to this in Teufel1987's Rise of the Wizards and Tenhawk's Shadow Council.

 

Didn't Harry start off like that in The Emperor (or whatsitcalled)? Pretty good fic, methinks. No link tho. Cant seem to find it. It's the one where Harry ends up building his Empire after ousting magic to the muggles.

Are you talking about that Dumbledore Bashing, partial-Weasley Bashing Wizards Bad/Muggles Good, Hail Amer- er, Britannia, piece of shit FanFic that expects me to believe the Muggles can beat the Wizarding World with freaking muskets?

Because if you are, I am honestly curious: do you like it because of how it's a parody of other bad Fics, or do you actually like it?

 

I like it because for all its faults, it's a good fic.

 

It's been a long time since I've read either, but that sounds more like the author's Dark Wars series.

ok, I was wrong. "Dark Wars" is the doubleplusbad one. "Emperor" is still bad, but at least it doesn't try to convince me a teenager is in charge of his own army armed with muskets who can easily beat the Wizarding World.

 

Gentleman Usher of the Scarlet Rod by Heather Sinclair has Harry instated as a Royal Wizard iirc. It's one of my favorite stories.

 

Never knew they were separate series, always thought emperor was just a continuation of Dark Wars. Might have to give it a go.

I always thought of Dark Wars as a higher quality version of ASCAL by Miranda Flairgold. Doesn't take long for HP to be redundant beyond the fact characters share similar names.

From what I remember Dark Wars would of been well suited to being a stand-alone fic, as it is all I see now is a butchery that I struggle to read through, even though I know I enjoyed it back in the day. Same with ASCAL.

 

ASCAL at least had some interesting idea scattered amongst it. Wasn't Dark Wars the one that got confused in the last chapter and suddenly sprang a wizards duel in the style of a Naruto fight on the readers?

 

Marquis Black's Emperor bollocks is one of the dumbest fanfics ever. Muggles are supposed to beat wizards with century-old rifles?! What a load of bull! They'd be very hard pressed to do so with modern weaponry, but stuff from before the age of the machine gun, automatic rifle, the cruise missile, the ballistic missile, the B & C weapons, and modern, electronic warfare?! Fuggetaboutit!! Monarchy is a relic of the past and good fucking riddance.

No idea, can't remember making it to the end. At some point I gave up because it lost any resemblance to HP, but I realized for people who like that political atmosphere it might be a decent fic. As a HP fic, it failed hard. Since political fics bore me with few exceptions, I dropped it.

 

Monarchs in Britain or anywhere else in 1st world countries have no real power, it's the elected officials, who really run the country. The kings and queens are for the tourists, yellow press and traditionalists.

 

Again, that is Dark Wars. If you actually took the time to read the first chapter or two of Emperor, you'd know that it's actually not the same story at all. In point of fact, Emperor uses modern weapons, and modern times and in fact escalates modern weaponry with some crazy magic voodoo stuff that's interesting to me, but not some others. It's now at the point where it's also fused in some Attack on Titan fight mechanics and Halo combat descriptions. It's a very flawed story, but for all that, it's an interesting, well written and inventive narrative, that (if you can ignore how stupid it sometimes gets) is a good read, if a bad HP fanfiction.

This was also Emperor, and it was a sudden shift, but the explanations after do attempt to make up for it, by adding some explanation to it. Unfortunately it doesn't do it's job at all. And he's adding other elements from various anime, tv and movies that aren't HP. he did the same for his actual Naruto story by fusing Naruto's world with characters from Fairy Tail that are thinly disguised as Uzumaki clan members.

 

I think the reigning sovereigns of Liechtenstein, Monaco and Vatican City would disagree. The latter even is an absolute monarchy.
