My headcanon always tells me to either give Harry no animagus form/a shitty one if he's a badass wizard, or make him a nundu if he's closer to Ron than Hermione.

 

My favorite HP animagus form in a fanfic is it being a ghost.

Maybe a Grim since he's Master of Death and that's what he thought Sirius was when he first met him. His patronus would be his dad and his animagus form would be Sirius, who was like a second father, or maybe a brother.

 

You are all wrong, his animagus form is a rooster. flash forward to the final battle and Voldemort transform into the cliched basilisk form. Harry transforms into a rooster and crows. The end.

Damn that reminded me of a scene from one of flairgolds fics when there is a big battle and there is basilisks everywhere, people begin to transform into their super power animagus forms and fights them. It's like everyone has forgotten the basilisks weakness to roosters.

 

People usually handwave it by saying the rooster can't be forced to crow and that they only crow at dawn, so it's not an option.

Which is totally bullshit as anyone who has a rooster living nearby can testify, they crow whenever the hell they want.

 

And they don't bloody stop either.

 

I've always thought that Harry would be a dog of some description, mostly because of his loyalty.

Plus, the horcrux hunt from canon also put me in mind of a dog chasing a car. He doesn't know what he'd do if he caught it/found it but he's going to try anyway.

 

It wouldn't be the first time that the form of Harry's cock was his biggest asset in a story.

James (and Sirius and Remus assumably) were all insanely talented -likely the equivalent of Snape- mastering skills and creating a map which, to my knowledge, has no equal while they were still in school.
