    I'm actually pretty excited...

Now before you assume things. First yes the trailer was pretty bad ass.

but I'm excited based on the movie series history.

We've all bitched and complained about stuff being rewritten or changed in the books when they were adapted to the movies. With HBP, really they can only go up. And I think the writers may try and play things differently than the books.

I've long accepted if I went to see the movies I was going to see a ginny/harry story. Now I might be able to, God forbid, see a good ginny/Harry story.

I mean its not like Rowlings writing the movie script. Or directing the actors, I mean they got like 12 more brains on this story trying to earn some green.

Rowling was already filthy rich and half arsed the last two books. You know they're going to try and make it better.

I have hope... Lets see if it gets crushed again.

Did anyone else notice that in the trailer for HARRY POTTER and the half blood prince, we only saw about 5 seconds of Harry.

I'm just saying that normally you would have the main character in the trailer.

And there was no Herman, or Snape, or Malfoy. They wanted to set the dark image so that when all of use suckers go see it we are blinded by hormonal ginger teen angst, tis a lure, don't fall for it.

Half the movie is going to be interesting with all of Tom's memories, and all, but the other half ... I'm going to have to watch Hermione/Ron angst and Harry kiss a troll. Joyous day.

I predict that there will be one memory scene. they will drop the Slughorn sub-plot. Harry's obsession with Snape and Malfoy will get lots of screen time. Hermione could go either way; blown out of proportion or marginalized.

I personally don't think the movies are that bad. In fact, there have been times when I thought that they did better than the books in depicting some situations.

Compared to most of the shit that comes out of theaters nowadays, the HP films are actually coherent, decently-written stories with a great job in the production design department. The main cast may not be the best group of young actors ever, but at least they try and put some acting, and are backed by giants of the english theatre and movies like Maggie Smith, Alan Rickman, Richard Harris, John Hurt, Michael Gambon, Emma Thompson, Gary Oldman and Ralph Fiennes among others that can actually put a good show and overcompensate the failure of the young "promises".

I am also one of the few that enjoys the movies not being exactly like the books. Hell, if you want that, just go read the books again. "Prisoner of Azkaban" directed by Cuarón, which people trashed saying it was too different to the novels, was and is up until now, IMO, the best film of the HP series and the one that set up the actual "darker" and more elaborated tone.

The movies have its own univere, as "Batman Begins" and "The Dark Knight" do have its own. That's why I don't think that Gambon's Dumbledore is that bad among other details. Because, well, in the movies it fits and makes sense.

Another thing that rubs me the wrong way, is that some people critisize the films, not because of their content, but because most of the fanon, lead by crazy, hormone-driven fangirls, like it too, and it's "oh so not cool" to enjoy them. I don't think Alan Rickman is at fault of the thousands of Slash pieces out there, or that his acting is worse because of them.

Of course there have been bad HP movies (CS and GoF are fucking awful IMO) and everyone has the right to their own opinion, but I wouldn't judge anything till, at least we have seen more of it. If it centers in Riddle's story, it can be an awesome film with a darker tone, if not, the potential for major suckage is huge, but until we know more, we should just complain about how fucking ugly Bonnie Wright is and leave it at that.

    Added scene as well.

I'm really looking forward to seeing the Riddle scenes. His character and history was one of my favourite things about book 6 (That's not very hard though) and Fiennes (The younger) looks really good. It'll be interesting to see how they do it, which scenes are in and which are out. Apparently Fleur isn't in it either.

That looked really good. AD seems complex, with depth to his responses.

The boy playing Tom is how I always imagined Harry to look like.

Yates has said that he has not put too much of an emphasis on memories, so there will be only three memories.

Yeah, it's been confirmed, I'll enjoy to see DH and how they don't have her or Bill in it.

Yeah, that would be how I base young Harry in any fanfiction I write in the future.

I hope its mostly about Riddle, in fact a better decision would be to make this film an interlude of sorts before the 2 DH films.

I enjoyed the trailer but as with all trailer's it show's only the good part's of the movie, given that HBP was just a romance novel with a bit of plot line in it iam not expecting much in this movie thus i wait till the DVD come's out (then only buy it when it's half price).

You never know, Yates might actually cut out some of the romance in this film. He himself said on an interview I saw somewhere that he's terrible at portraying any type of romance, especially in the fifth film. But don't get your hopes up. Based on what I saw in the trailer it looks likes only the good scenes from the book were put in the trailer.:whipped:

The trailer looks pretty good. The kid playing young Riddle was awesome. However, some of the scenes shown in the trailers may not make in the actual film. Still, I have some hope for this.

Who else thinks that they should have made Extended Editions like LoTR for proper HP fans with all of the scenes which have been cut.
