Meh. I tried it, and even played a game against my friend. Lost since he played longer and it was play 2 win.

Just cannot seem to catch a break lately; I've been following drafting guides in the Arena and had three runs go 1-3 today, I'm just probably going to give up on the Arena, I've sank over 2k gold into it and made back around 400 odd with my best run being 4-3.

My last 6 runs have ended with 3 wins or less despite 2 'ok' drafts, the rest have been pretty garbage tier but that's my luck in a nutshell when it comes to TCG's given my short experience with another one... Night something I think it was.

On the positive side of things I got King Mukla in a pack and instantly DE'd him, alongside Bane of Doom; So, two cards above rare level and they're both terrible. Gives me 700 or so dust to play with, not really sure what to sink it into and the prospect of saving for a decent Legendary doesn't seem worth the wait.

It's a fun little game but I can see why I've always avoided games such as TCG's where the RNG will either go dry sans lube or slather you in it. Time to start crafting a deck for Ranked I think, where the aggro decks are everywhere and Legendaries are a staple. Got a good feeling about Hunter or Shaman.

Well, I'm doing quite well from the Arena. Just started my first run through and I'm currently 3-0 up. Beast decks are fairly powerful if you get some good cards from the draw. I also got quite lucky with various Draw Card battlecries that I don't have in my regular deck, which has helped A LOT in countering my usual weakness of running out of cards at around the 6-7 mark.

Aw why would you DE Mukla? That card is so much fun. In other news, balance patch coming. Most of it makes no sense, but whatever. Every competitive deck these days sports 5-8 legendaries, so I am gonna be grinding arenas for a while till I can keep up. It's getting kind of out of hand.

What doesn't make sense about the balance patch? Pretty much everything they mentioned in there required a nerf.

Only thing really wrong I could see was maybe the Blood Imp change.

So I'm retiring my aggro Warlock. They've now nerfed like quarter of my cards. Maybe I'll start with a legend Druid or something...

I like Mukla, and he's a powerful card, I'm just not ok with giving my opponent what is basically a MotW without the Taunt as it'll probably bite me in the butt later on.

Happy with the nerf's too, especially Pyroblast and Blood Imp. Sad to see the change to the Dwarf but it needed to happen, and losing 1 attack on the Argent Defender's not too big a deal.

I finally got a key from the "open" beta. They gave out keys to everyone who didn't get one yet.

I got to rank 19 as a high as part of a huge win streak, but I'm at 20 now. My last two matches were pretty funny >.>

A warrior deck that had Deathwing, Gruul, and Alexstraxa. Ended up winning by controlling the board the entire game.

Then a Priest bursted me down with a Prophet of Velen Mind strike thingy for 10 damage.

Noticing more and more legendaries now =(

As for arena, I went 0-3 and 1-3. Fun xD. I probably shouldn't have played arena so quickly

I would recommend some kind of board control warlock if you are just starting out. You can play it with no legendaries and do ok, although sylvanas definitely helps.

I also highly recommend secrets control mage to anyone with the legendaries to pull it off. Loads of fun to play. http://i.imgur.com/cRUWTev.jpg

I found out about hearthstone on the 11th from my friend (tried a game on his beta account, man was it fun!) so I'm too late for the closed beta, just gotta wait out the days til the open beta is out. I can't wait!

I've been playing a control Mage with just basics and it's been doing alright. Got up to rank 18, so steadily improving.

I tried various aggro and other control classes but they just get destroyed by all the Fairy Dragons, Harvest Golems and Defender of Argus stuff. Then there's the Legendaries.

Is Warlock better than Mage in that aspect?

I played 2 arenas today and went 5-3 on the first one. The second one was so bull. I went Mage and got one Frostbolt, one Arcane Missle, and one Fireball. Rest were random minions. Really sad.

Also, those adjacent minion buffs are so glitchy today. I actually lost a game because of it =s

Did that get worse with the patch? I have the same problem. It seems like it happens more often than it used to.

Played against a Paladin with 3 Truesilver, at least one Consecration and two Ragnaros today. Fun.

Holy fuck, I just had a crazy ass Arena game.

It's Pally vs Pally, and guy gets the dream Argent Squire into that 2/2 that gives divine shield AND sword of justice.
Then he gets Blessing of Kings.

I JUST barely stabilize at 3 hp after an enemy Equality and my top decked Consecrate(wow), and he has a Secret up. I had lethal on board with 3 creatures, and I guessed it was Noble Sacrifice and popped it with my hero to go down to 1 hp and win with my creatures.

    Wow. That was super close.

As for arena records, I've been going up and down... 5-3, 1-3, 7-3, 0-3, and now currently 6-2.

Finally finished that arena run I started last week. Came in at 5-3 and got a few decent cards + gold out of it.

Do you think it's better to craft the good cards (Argus, Sunfury, etc.) or just wait for more packs from arena? I have about 1k dust from an extra King Mukkla.

I can't even make the Control Warlock deck because I don't half those commons. It's getting annoying facing Knife Jugglers with Raptor.

I crafted a bunch of important rares and commons back when I was starting out. It's the best way to get a decently competitive deck without waiting forever. That said, I wouldn't waste dust on sunfury protector. That card is only good in a few specific decks, all of which require even more expensive cards to work (giants or legendaries).

If you are looking to put together an aggro deck, I would recommend Argus and Argent commanders first, then probably Knife Jugglers and some of the good commons like Harvest Golem and Shattered Sun Cleric.

    This might help: http://www.liquidhearth.com/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=408
Note that it was written well before the recent patch, so I would move Dark Iron Dwarf from #1 on the list to somewhere around #10, but the rest of it is still fine.

I think I'm going to make reynad's Midgame Rogue deck. No epics/legendaries

Edit: Made the deck. Substituted SI7 Agents for Panda's though. Not quite as good, but at least it's another 2 drop that can bring back a buff minion. Rank 14 right now

Also, I have a sick Arena deck. Not much lategame and no 2 drops, but the midgame spike is stupid strong. And I have 4 Aldor's for lategame. I'm most afraid of early rushes, but I just beat a Hunter pretty handedly. Currently 4-0. I'm pretty sure this is a deck that could go 12-0 in the hands of an excellent player, so I'm hoping for at least breaking my 8 win record.
