im looking for 2 harry potter stories that i havent been able to find. Read them quite a while ago.

the first one is harry goes back in time to his younger self I THINK, he like creates this huge foundation that is huge and has many people working for him, i think remus knows its him, and i think he uses a disguise to look older. And i also he has like some show and tell thing for kids and some tiger attacks him or it seems like it to people, hard to describe, only remember bits and pieces.

the second is where harry find someway to combine magic and technology to make things and he creates a company that sells these items, i think he met like a few muggles in a pub and tricked them or something and they became partners. HE\e also uses a disguise to look older and if im not mistaken, he dates fleur to.

Would appreciate titles of the stories or links to them.

The second one is http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4493073/1/Harry_Potter_Rise_of_the_Technomancers I think but it has been a long time since I read it so i could be wrong

I have also read the first one as well, but I cannot remember the name. I have read quite a few stories like this last year and I might be getting them confused. I think it involved hiring some Japanese witches to figure out how to supercharge some magical crystal or something to power his products. I think their was also some werewolf thing going on where they set up safehouses and gave away wolfsbane. I think they also gave Molly Weasley a daycare job or something? I also remember Harry working undercover, but he also hires a character everyone thinks is dead from canon who is disguised as well. Either Regulus black or one of the Prewitts I believe. Does that ring a bell? I think I read this one on hpff.com, and I don't have those bookmarks on my new computer.

Wow are you really that anal about how people write that you would write something that makes you look that stupid. I know how to type, i just don't particulary care when i am typing in a hurry or not writing a story, why don't you just not leave feedback, i am not very interested in what you have to say.

Yes anarchy, what you wrote does seem to be the same story, about the technomancers, not 100 sure if thats the second one or not, might be, gonna read it now and see but thanks.

See, I had to read through that a few times to even figure out what you were saying due to the lack of punctuation. There's a reason spelling, grammar and punctuation exist, you know.

If you were less of an obnoxious 'tard, we might be more inclined to help you out.

Funny story, I know the first story you are looking for, I just don't particularly care to tell you the name or give you a link for it as am I in a hurry trying to get to lunch.

Maybe I'll oblige later. Maybe not.

Obnoxious tard lol, that was funny. I'm not the one who is trying to start a fight here, i am just tired of people who harp on people who don't write like they think they should. I can understand if i was writing a story, then i would give anyone a free pass, im just trying to find a couple stories that i really want to read again and all i get is someone trying to correct my spelling...

I have heard about people on DLP being harsh on critism but didnt think they were all dicks to. If you don't having anything to post that pertains to what i have asked for, i honestly don't know why you would post something. I'm not trying to sound like a dick either, just giving my opinion.

We aren't dicks (though we did work quite hard to get and keep that reputation) but we do happen to give a shit about not raping the english language. It's not how we 'think you should' write, it's how you should write if you're using this language.

The worst part is that the first post wasn't that bad, Custer was just being a douche. You getting completely butthurt when you tried to defend yourself, however, is what did you in.

TL;DR: If you don't like the rules here, you don't have to stay.

Yeah, gotta disagree with you there, Fiat. It's not that the post is riddled with errors, it's the lack of care that went into it. Yes, we're anal about this kind of thing. And yes, we're all dicks. Without exception. Especially Lord Anarchy :awesome

We're tired of people who don't write like we think they should (i.e. correctly).

Anyway, to cut this shit short, I think this is the story you're looking for.

Huh, I'm gonna play devil's advocate, or at least my rendition of it. I agree with both sides of this argument, when I first saw the overviews given for trying to find these stories I was a little put off by lack of any structure in the post at all, however, I also am one of those who have a problem with "Grammar Nazis" sometimes you just don't feel up to writing something worth handing in to your English teacher you know? I mean appreciation for our already bastardized language is great but let's not tear a guy honestly just looking for a hand down, then when he states his irritation keep beating him down. On the other hand by insulting Custer, and sounding at least vaguely petty you demean your own argument to childish insults rather than a possibly thought-out counter. That is all.

You slay me. Have you lurked on DLP very long? I stay here because of the consistently excellent grammar, among other things. There are hundreds of forums out there where your opinion, in the form of a post with no capitals and no paragraphing, can be just as highly regarded as the one that was actually planned out, and is easier to read. that's bullshit; the English language has a very strict set of rules that, when followed, will result in something easily readable and perhaps even enjoyable.

Outside of DLP, there are hordes of ill-grammared netizens that I can ignore when I'm reading an update to Renegade Cause or Fictional. Why should this website, a dedicated quality control forum, agree to let lazy people who can't even move their fingers a few more times than average have their way, when that would be against the very basics of the site?

That lion story sounds a bit interesting, but I'm sure I don't want to read it. Anyone feel like summarising it?

Many people will tell you that on the Internet, full grammar isn't required. This is a gross oversimplification of things. The real guideline is this: each individual community on the Internet sets its own standards for grammar, and those standards are self-evident if you just read the posts.

Anyway, why would you want to be typing along with worse grammar and spelling than everyone else? I suspect some internet shorthand types don't realize this, but if you type worse English than everyone else in the community, those people literally come to see you as being more stupid than they are. Even when you make a good point, your post gets colored by this preconception, and therefore won't be given the same weight as it would have otherwise.

    ^^This

To expand a bit on Blazzano's point:

When I saw OP's post I originally thought he was a thirteen year old girl that got lost on her way to myspace, somehow ending up in our little piece of the internet. Then I saw it was actually a dude. My mental images are very conflicted right now.

Communities have norms of appropriate behavior and common courtesy. Failure to pay attention to these things is likely to be perceived not as laziness, but rather contempt and a rejection of their shared values. If you're in a cathedral, you don't take a piss in the aspersorium; if you're at the DLP forum, you don't post like a Lolcat.

This community respects literacy and elementary facility with the English language. It's a feature of our stories selected for the Library and a large part of how a Harry Potter fanfiction community of all things could attract the type of membership we have. We're not after perfection in what you write, but we do expect that you'll put forth an honest effort not to diminish us by what you post. If you don't, I wouldn't expect anyone to take you seriously.

Typically, new users receive a (mostly) gentle indoctrination into this culture in their Introduction thread. You two have elected to forge ahead in the forum proper, however, where such faux pas are suffered less genially. The proper response to GC's post would have been to use the 'edit' key to fix your offending post, not to petulantly argue that it's just peachy to tinkle in the holy water.

[Edit: This whole post was really just an excuse to use the word 'aspersorium', which I remembered today.]

The sad thing is that English actually doesn't have very strict rules in relation to most other languages; and yet, despite the flexibility afforded Anglophones in terms of written English, these lazy fucktards still insist on raping the shit out of it. I have to wonder if this isn't a case of "give them an inch and they'll take a mile".
