I'm trying to find a particular story where the setup was that Harry loses in the Chamber. The Riddle shade obliviates him, and it sets up some kind of subconscious desire on Harry's part to become the best wizard he can be.

It's specifically not In the Chamber, although the setup is quite similar. This has been bothering me for a while, because I remember thinking that the story had potential and now I can't find it.

Anybody remember the one I'm talking about?

Like I said, it isn't In The Chamber. In In The Chamber Harry beats Riddle, but Ginny dies. In the fic I'm looking for, Riddle beats Harry and obliviates him. The premise is similar, but the details were different. I remember thinking that the writing was pretty good and being hopeful for the future of the story, but I can't remember the title.

It was inspired by the same thread as In The Chamber. A failed obliviation leaves Harry with a constant desire to get stronger. Hasn't been updated beyond the first chapter though.
