Playing through Torchlight at the moment, pretty fun, but the lack of story besides "you're infected and even though it's my fault, you're going to have to go through an entire mountain and several dimensions worth of monsters to get fixed" is kinda annoying.

 

Go get Bastion, it's super awesome fantastic.

 

Get a gameboy advance and play the Golden Sun series imo. Some of the best RPGs I've ever played. And the graphics are pretty good for it's generation.

Emulators of course can pull off the same trick. Provided you own the games of course!

I'm not much of an aficionado, but I'll admit that the original Fable was pretty damn fun. Not super open-ended, but still entertaining.
