The only good thing that happened in this episode was Peter punking Sylar in the limo, other than that scene I give it WTF/10.

Not to mention he would be more than surprised when he touches something in his office, triggering his "know the history of an object power" and see the whole event with Sylar and Nathan play down. BTW how can Sylar fly?

He can absorb abilities through really getting to know and understand someone - basically through empathy, similar to how Peter's power used to work. Remember Elle? He didn't chop her skull, but can still toss lightning around.

If Sylar really can fly (and I don't think we saw him fly, did we?), I think we're supposed to assume that with absorbing all of Nathan's memories, he understands the man himself well enough to gain his ability.

Plus, the whole knowing how things work is the only real power that they have to fear. It's been shown that the power is the thing that fucked Sylars morals up, and since Nathan isn't very jesus like in his morals to begin with, I can easily see bad things happening.

Knowing that Nathan can heal from Sylars abilities is a lot more comforting then realising he is getting the power that killed dozens of others.

Sylar... for all of his pomp, isn't all that badass. The problem is, they just never have anyone with powers using them with any sort intelligence like Sylar or Arthur Petrelli did.

Could of frozen him into a giant block of ice, perma-frost that son of a bitch. The Microwave Kid could of just boiled him down into goop.

I'm just hoping that with the original writer Fuller returning to the staff, I'm expecting much better from Heroes now. You can already see in these last few episodes where he's trying to clean up the giant clusterfuck mess that happened in his absence.

Angela wanted her son back, she was led to believe by her power that Matt would be the way that would happen. Peter shapeshifting into Nathan in order to shut down Building 26 would not of accomplished what Angela really wanted. All that stuff about needing Nathan to make peace was mainly just to get Matt to do it.

In the episode it was mentioned, by Angela or Noah, that Sylar's clairsentience power would fill any gaps in Sythan's memory so at least that power was not suppressed and the ending shows that IA is now active as well.

The two hour season premiere is tonight at 8pm Eastern time for those of you still interested in Heroes.

The new season (Redemption) deals with a new storyline, which revolves around a Carnivale led by Robert Knepper.

Ehh I've been a big fan of Heroes but after the last season and the one before that, this is taking a back seat to HIMYM. It's become DVRed with HIMYM taking the primetime spot for me. I'll still watch it (on Tuesday), but I'm not as excited I was last time.

Yeah, the excitement has been sucked out of me for this show. However, I'm tuning in just for the trainwreck factor at this point. A part of me still kinda hopes that they can right the ship.

It was actually pretty good, despite not knowing what the fuck is up with the Carnies.

Like the second half of last year, they are focusing on the characters.

Sylar & Matt were my favorite parts.

In the previous seasons, they have introduced new characters and they just haven't been interesting. Yes, I'm looking at you West and Monica. T-Bag and his crew seem legitimately interesting people. Let's just hope that the writers don't fuck up their motivations.

and This. Sylar slowly manipulating Matt into using his powers was a highlight of the show. I also appreciated the fact that they used some continuity when Sylar mentioned Janice's previous indiscretions. It certainly makes sense that Parkman's insecurities, and suspicions lead him to start using his power again.

I was impressed though to be realistic I was also impressed with last seasons intro as well. We all know how that season went.

But Am I wrong in having hope for this season since the guy who first did the writing kring(SP?) is back.

When they did flashbacks of the first season stuff I was kinda giddy like they were alluding to going back to his original plan.

I kinda want parkman to become the villain. And Sylar Nathan to become the Hero. That would be bad ass. Because Parkmans awesome in everything really.

The best part about this season I guess, is that all the main characters are taking on realistic personalities. IE, selfish ones

They are motivated by their own goals. Realistic, selfish (good or bad) goals.

Get a uber power to help me do my job better. Kill the people who would try to end me, live my life with out freaking out about secrets and lies... Get my family back together.

Way better than the episodic format they had going before. But I still wanna know what that stupid symbol means. Stupid writers strike.

Meh I thought the episode was alright, but not very season premiere worthy. I like the Carnies but it seemed like a poor way to bring them in. I really hate the Nathan, Parkman, Sylar triangle. This is just leading to a really shitty season finale with Sylar coming back Nathan staying dead and next season making a miraculous Jesus revival.

I feel like the authority of the Carnies to be cool is largely diminished by all the Level Five junk last season. That was a huge disappointment, and this sort of feels like the same: "But look, these cool people who you've never seen have been there all along! And have awesome new powers too! And none of the people with prophetic abilities or the lolzy trips into the future have ever revealed the slightest hint of them before, even though they seem to be a pretty powerful group of supers, even by Heroes standards."

I hope all this carnie buildup doesn't just turn into another curbstomp where the old crew beats up new characters pretty much universally again, and none of them are even heard from after this season except possibly as comic relief/sexual tension. Knife guy already is smelling of this, as it seems like his role in the episode was to repeatedly run in, fight some other super, epically fail despite an awesome power, and then run away while trying to still look cool.

Nice to see the Haitian roaming the states again, though it's puzzling why HRG is playing loner so much with him around to hang out with.

Another question i have is what is the deal with Samuel? What's his power? Is it the Kuami from Captain Planet thing (EARTH!) or is it the tattoos?

I didnt even know the new season of Heroes started up until I saw this thread start up.
The carnies seem to be like real carnies... They dont mix with outsiders.
But seeing how all the versions of the future we have seen are about the main story line, they wouldnt have been seen yet.
Future changed with Nathen going to Danko. Danko goes to carnies and season 4 was born.

    My favorite part was Sylar/Parkman.
