    Does anyone know what the hell this is?

    I thought I would ask before I go nuts and reformat my laptop again tomorrow because Avira told me it was a hidden file and those are bad.

    Panic is caused by my new reason to not surf the internet drunk. I have been shocked sober. Yay me. :awesome :facepalm

    Stxx, this might shed some light on your issue. It's an archived WinXP forum message from Microsoft's forums. http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/78881-45-start-menu
    According to the people in the discussion it's what keeps your Start Menu info the same when you switch from "Classic" to "Normal" Start Menu styles in the "Customize" tab. I don't have a machine that's running Windows in any format right now so I can't check. Hope this is helpful.
