I actually sort of like where he's going with it. At first I considered it a throwaway story, but I actually kind of like some of the aspects, even if some are still quite annoying (like the inevitable Ron-bashing he snuck in there). On the other hand, the Dumbledore bits aren't too bad, and it has some interesting original elements.

    3/5.

Despite how cliché and overused some parts of this story are (like the time-dilation), I simply love this fic.

The premiss was merely interesting and entertaining at first, but the brilliant interactions between Harry and every single Delacour, especially after the latest chapter, make this story stand out. And Harry's obvious dislike for Fleur adds a tiny but nevertheless intriguing twist.

This fic isn't terribly original and that's probably why I'd consider it a guilty pleasure, but so are most of Jeconais' stories in my opinion.

And I had to laugh at Harry flirting with Fleur's father, completely ignoring her in the process :awesome

I thought the latest chapter took a hard left from average and amusing into downright terrible. He started out saying he wouldn't be trying to avoid cliches, because this was 'fun writing.' That's really a cop-out to begin with, but as long as his story was humorous and of the crackfic variety it didn't matter.

This chapter, however, seemed to take itself very seriously. In fact he seems to have decided to change the story into a more serious work. And quite frankly any story in 2010 even attempting to be serious with this many cliches is an abomination. It seemed like he tried to pack every single cliche possible into that chapter. It wasn't funny, it was just painful. And the entire first half of the chapter was tell rather than show.

TL;DR The latest chapter takes the story from mildly humorous crackfic to typical Jeconais 'serious story' SuperHarry. And it's nowhere near as good, or as well-written as his older work.

    2/5

I really like the story myself. I'm giving this story a 4/5 at the moment. It's supposed to be "funny", and it has been so far for me.

This really doesn't deserve to be in the Library, and probably shouldn't even have made it into the Recycling Bin. I'll probably keep following it, but it's purely a guilty pleasure read.

Jeco just can't help himself really. He can only write one thing and that was played out years ago. This isn't even particularly well written.

All of Jeco's stuff is only on his FF site. Not much we can do about that.

This is not a good story and I apologize for putting it up for review in the first place.

To be fair this was right at the start of Jeconais's downfall, you couldn't really know that it was going to be this bad... that being said, yeah this doesn't even deserve to be in the recycling bin.

I read this. I thought it was pretty good. Its light-hearted and a nice Harry growing up story. The fic's other main focus is friendships and I loved it. The humor is great. it has some nice original ideas and the cliches are done well. I like most of Jeconais' work

Ugh. Mate, I don't want to be overly patronising, but have a look at this C2. You'll find a wealth of well written fics of many genres.

I'm honestly not trying to knock you here, but...man. This is not a story of good humour, original ideas, or well done cliches.

Just went to have a look at the latest chapter to make sure I wasn't being overly condemning...yeah, Harry making his own House, women decades his senior hanging off his every word, directing Dumbledore and McGonagall around and communing with Hogwarts? 2/5, and only because the writing is technically correct.

Have you read the fic at all? Those are only little parts of it. The most of fic is focused on Harry's friendships with various people. And thats why I loved it. The humor was good throughout the fic. Its was original take on Harry getting powerful mixed with a few cliches. It was whole new take on Fleur as well. Its written as a fun fic and it delivered on that.

“Professor Sinistra is our Head of House,” Harry added, turning back to the Headmaster. “I’ll leave it up to you to negotiate her pay rise. But you don’t need to worry about her quarters; Hogwarts has taken care of that.”
Aurora looked like she was fighting an urge to gape at him.
Harry looked down at his robes and the Gryffindor colours and frowned. “We’re going to need new colours,” he pointed out.
There was a rush of magic through them, and when it had finished, they were all wearing the same uniforms. The robes were light grey, with a black and silver trim. The tie was striped in the same three colours.
“So I’m a Hogwarts student now,” Christophe said in amusement. “Cool.”
“Well, it does mean that I can help the other students better,” Melissa mused. “I can deal with Ravenclaw, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff and Slytherin equally, so it works for me.”
There was another rush of magic, and every other Beauxbatons and Durmstrang student started to wear the new house colours over their uniforms.
“Associate members,” Hermione pointed out with a small smile.
Harry reached down and touched the floor.
Gabrielle knelt next to him. “She’s not worked this hard in years.”
“I think we ought to say thank you,” Harry decided as he stood up. “Fleur, Vik, Ced, you remember the power sharing spell?”
    “Of course,” Fleur said.
“Teach it to the others quickly,” he ordered, as he moved toward the centre of the room. “Excuse me,” he said to the Slytherin and Hufflepuff tables, as he moved them away.
With his wand, he drew a circle on the floor, and stood in it. He took a few deep breaths. “Ready?” he called.
    “We are,” Cedric replied firmly.
“Gabrielle, tell them when,” he said to the only one who couldn’t participate.
Gabrielle’s expression when from forlorn to happy in less than a microsecond. “I will,” she promised faithfully.
Harry crouched, and then stood abruptly, flaring his magic at the same time. He flew into the air, until he was hovering around fifteen feet above the floor. He released all his magic in one go, pulling it all to the surface.
    “Now,” Gabrielle ordered.
He threw his head back and screamed as he was hit by fifteen streams of magic, including, to his surprise, Aurora’s.
He took all the magic inside him for a second, merging it with his own, before he released it all.
Bright blue flames surrounded him before he focused down, and poured the magic straight into Hogwarts. The flame reached down and touched the floor, going through it like it didn’t exist.
“Stop,” Gabrielle ordered, and the streams pulled away from him. With just his own magic left, he continued for a few seconds, before he took control of his now heavily depleted magic and floated down.
There was a silent pause, before he was hit by Hogwarts’ reaction. She was so happy, so awake and bubbly. She was telling him how much she loved him, and it awed him.
The feeling slowly faded away, but the lights were a lot brighter, and he got the impression that Hogwarts was happy.

Yeah...just no. That scene also took place in the Great Hall, while all the other students of Hogwarts looked on.

There is so much more out there man. I liked this story at one point back way back near the beginning...then I started hanging around DLP more (cause DLP is the be all and end all of good taste in fanfiction, in case you didn't know).

You're more than welcome to your personal opinion here, but you can and will find higher quality writing out there. Go into the light, child.

Trying really fucking hard not to sound like a pretentious twat, here.

That happened in the last 2 chapters. The overall fic makes up for it. And Jeconais is a quality author thats why I read his fics.

I love jeconais, I'm currently reading this story, I can not say it's good. It flat isn't, he's a great writer but even he says he isn't trying on this. 3/5 guilty pleasure and that's probably a bit generous.
