Don't really care about facial animations tbh. The only reason studios like ND do so well with them is they have ungodly money to spend on mocap studios and the like.

Just get the gameplay down.

I did laugh at the dialogue though. Which one of you was hired to write it? I swear I've read a hundred of these fics before.

 

Animations looks terrible, graphics not great, gameplay looks uninspired and pre-order shit? Yeah, I'm pirating this game at best, won't bother to do even that at worst.

I don't think there's enough for us to judge the gameplay as harshly just yet. There's plenty that seems exciting and worth exploring, and for the game of such a scope having not the greatest animations and graphics is to be expected (and I wouldn't call it terrible outright anyway).

All in all, aside of rather weak-looking combat, I'm still pretty excited (or maybe hopeful) for this.

 

Face and motion seemed fine, but the movement of the thestral looked whack. It's an RPG right? Hopefully that was the Slytherin path so I can avoid that dialogue.

Honestly I'm still hopeful that we can get into this with modding. Imagine the quests and plots you could do if it's anything like Skyrim.

 

Even if this is terrible it'll be a fun distraction for the novelty alone.

I can't lie man. I'm hype as fuck for this game. It's a coin-flip on whether or not it's trash-tier at this point, and I'm probably going to take that gamble.

Imagine if there's a mod scene? Like, not even dedicated mod tools which is ludicrously unlikely. There's plenty of games out there with non-dedicated mod tools. Think on all the possible spell mods. Canon or otherwise.

Beyond it signalling that it's a good game, that's what I'm hoping for. Capitalizing on the natural Harry Potter fandom and the video game fandom to create a, forgive the cheesiness, bombarda of excitement and playthroughs. Culminating in a mod community.

 

Who's modding in the multi-compartment trunk with time distortion inside?

It looks like it's built on Unreal Engine 4. So modding should potentially be available. Though whether that will reach Skyrim levels of customization or more like Spiderman simple cosmetic changes who knows.

 

So many fanfiction writers will get to explore their fantasy of a shopping trip in Diagon that ends with their character sporting a single earring and a big ass trunk.

 

I haven't been really paying attention to this as I kinda thought it was vaporware. But watched a couple of videos.

The story seems very 2011, very indy.

From a technical side it looks good enough, I just hope there are enough side activities that I can steer clear of the edgelord main plot.

 

I do think the story won’t land as well with people who have been immersed into HP FanFiction but for those less aware I think they’ll love it.

It's super bitchmade, and my least favourite kind of exclusive. Either pay for the game to be published (second-party game, like Stellar Blade or Ronin from that showcase) or just let people gravitate to where they want to play it, which will likely be majority PS5 anyway...

I'll watch people stream it when it releases. As with most games, I can't be super excited about something I can't play myself because I don't have the hardware that can run it.
