I've been doing some research into the list of Hogwarts students in or around Harry's year. Basically anyone who started attending between the years of 1988 and 1998.

The Harry Potter wikia has a ton of names that state them as being born 'in or before 1982', so they would be roughly Harry's age. Has anyone gotten bored enough to sort through those and make a decent fanon list of students who attended in the years near Harry?

 

I actually started with that list before moving over to the wikia to look for more names. The lexicon list is lacking many names and the Hufflepuff house only has about 18 names ranging from 1988 to 1995. So that's enough for 2 years, maybe.

 

Well, using those names to complete a list of students for fanfiction authors would be better than just making names up, I think, anyway. Given that many of the names sound similar to the names used in the books.

 

If someone uses 'Uchi Akimbo' in a fic, I'd probably instantly close out.

Anyone more than this is probably excess and not needed. It's pretty much just all the names from HP Lexicon as the Sorting Hat would call them out

 

I was trying for the complete list for those authors who make Harry older or younger and end up creating names that sometimes don't go with the naming style that J.K Rowling uses.
