Title: Hogwarts Year Five: This Wasn't in the Syllabus
    Author: Lipton Lee
    Rating: T
    Genre: Crossover/Action/Adventure
    DLP Category: Alternate
    Pairing: HP/GW (very very mild), RW/HG, DM/OC, B/A
Status: Abandoned. But over 100,000 words.
Summary: Wesley Wyndham-Pryce gets a visit from some old friends, and Hogwarts obtains some new... interesting teachers

This is my guilty pleasure. I'll be the first to admit that there are a plethora of grammar and spelling errors, not to mention the punctuation, but this author was one of the first I read that managed to capture a sense of playfulness about either HP or Buffy/Angel and still generally keep true to the characters. This was written before OotP even came out, so it only follows canon up to GoF. I generally loathe Draco Malfoy, and he's not a nice guy here, but the author manages to bring him around in a way that seems believable.

Then again, it could be just me...

Get. The. Fuck. Out. The only one Ron should be paired with is the basilisk or a troll. Same with the other red-headed step-child.

    Yes, it is just you.

Now now, you can't judge how good a story is based on the pairings.

That being said, the story still sucks.

Why submit a abandoned story for possible entry into the Library? Wouldn't it make sense to have stories which at least have the intention to be completed?

I didn't have to do it off just the pairings.

Over 5 years old and it only has 234 reviews. Doesn't that tell you something? It told me everything I needed to know.

No wonder it's abandoned. It sucks.

Went to skim the first chapter. Noticed that the author misspells 'syllabus' in the title. Clicked the Big Red X, that's pretty much all I need to know about the story.

Okay, obviously I made an error in judgment and would like to take this opportunity to apologize. I promise I will never do it again. I'm sorry for offending your sensibilities.

Just a tip for the future:

If the story is ripe with errors, be they grammatical, spelling, or both, don't post it in the library. Even if all you're looking for is just one other person who'll like it, even if you can deal with leaking assholes like Militis, even if Jesus himself pissed in a cup and sprinkled it over the keyboard of whatever boob wrote this story, don't post it. Just hold it in, and keep on moving, because odds are whoever would like this story have probably already read it.

I'm not one of them. 1/5, for the reasons you mentioned yourself.

Buffy/Angel makes me break out into hives on a regular day. When coupled with Harry/Ginny, Ron/Hermione, and Malfoy/Anything? No thank you.

Harry in the Buffyverse can work quite well. Buffy characters in the Potterverse fail 100% of the time.

What the fuck are you on about? You can never, and I do mean never, judge the quality of a story by the number of reviews it has.

I've read countless fics, most of which are in this Library, with only a modest review count. No offense to Tinn, of course, but 'The Song of the Trees' is one of the best examples of a fic full to the brim with quality but with only a modest number of reviews, IIRC.

Then again, you have the shitty fics with thousands of simpering reviews from the authors' legions of fangirls/boys. Just look for any popular Snarry/Drarry/Dramione or Severitus fic for an example.

While I do not read H/G or R/Hr, there are those here at DLP who tolerate them if they are well-done, so basically you were lucky this story is full of fail, or you'd get much more criticism for your dumb post.

Like I said, I had a slight lapse in judgment and made an oopsie. It definitely won't happen again, and I'd delete the whole thing if I could.

My sincerest apologies to everyone for inflicting my questionable taste upon you.

    I'm holding on your rope...

YOU'VE GOT ME TEN FEET OFF THE GROUNDDD...

I'm surprised Potter Law hasn't been linked yet.

I saw this story on Schnoogle ages ago... Couldn't stand it then, either.

I really fucking hate people that judge fics off the pairings, or the age or the amount of reviews.

You are a stupid fucking moron for thinking shit like that.

Militis was right on the moneym actually.

The banter (which comprised the entire first chapter) every goddamn word the characters spewed out of their fucking mouths was forced.

I read the second chapter, and the author wrote Harry Ron and Hermione as five year olds, not fifth year Hogwarts students.

This is an interesting recommendation in that there isn't any redemptive value whatsoever. There's nothing you can say along the lines of 'The spelling and grammar suck, but so and so makes up for that.'
